Losses make fanbases do funny things.People are actively talking about Heup’s weight and appearance on this forum right now. Dumbest fanbase out there
It would be a huge loss. TV and the baseball program's value at this point is more in terms of publicity generation and advertising; it's nice when he gets to Omaha, Tony appears as a guest on ESPN's MLB Draft coverage, etc. He also generates a lot of energy and interest around campus and around the fanbase. The fact that him potentially leaving broke as a story hours before TSIO and was basically a distraction for our fanbase during that game, and during a game week, is the best evidence of that.People actually wanting Danny White to be fired if Vitello leaves is asinine. Also it’s hard for me to get worked up over potentially loosing a coach in a sport that doesn’t generate revenue for the school.
I think both are true. The end result is one thing, but how you got there is the real story.Losses make fanbases do funny things.
The psychology of how expectations evolve over the course of a season is also fascinating. If you told even an unhinged fan before the season started (or especially right after Nico left) that on October 21 we'd be 5-2 with losses to UGA and Alabama, I think they'd be OK with that. However it's one thing to hear that in a vacuum; when you actually watch the games and see how games are won and lost, it feels like you "should" be some other record.
I'm glad you said it.People actually wanting Danny White to be fired if Vitello leaves is asinine. Also it’s hard for me to get worked up over potentially loosing a coach in a sport that doesn’t generate revenue for the school.
