Anybody know what the starting 5 will look like?

My guess is it’s likely

Jakobi
Abrams
Ament
Estrella
Okpara

I think 4 of the 5 spots are pretty clear. Wouldn’t shock me though to see Cade start over JP just because of experience, even though it’s been reported the 5 I listed look like the best 5.

Long starring 5 I really like our size in the paint

I think Estrella or Carey start at the 4, JMO
Woah really? Don't mind it, I just assumed Cade would because of position in the team. How do you see our frontcourt split then? I pictured it as roughly same game time for Carey/Cade, Okpara prob gets 25-27 min at center, JP plays mostly rotating in center with some 4 sprinkled in, and Brown comes in a couple minutes a game/half.

Could be dead wrong, but I see something like…

Ament 30/Cade 10
Carey 25/Estrella 10/Cade 5
Okpara 25/Estrella 15

I’m sure Brown will play some but I’m talking more the bigger/close games, winning time rotations.

I hope Cade can shoot it if that's what the split looks like.

Ament 30
Carey 25
Estrella 25
Okpara 25
Cade 15

I'm skeptical just because the team has other wings who will take a few minutes and probably want three people who can shoot the ball from deep on the court, but I can see something generally like that happening if you fudge the numbers a little.

Ament 30/Cade 5/Third Wing 5
Carey 20/Cade 15/Estrella 5
Okpara 25/Estrella 15

So:

Ament 30
Okpara 25
Estrella 20
Cade 20
Carey 20

A few things…Ament will get all the minutes he can handle, maybe that ends up being 35 and that cuts 5 off Cade at the 3. Also, if Burg & Abram or some other guard step forward may one of them becomes an option at the backup 3 if we struggle with Cade there. Also, I think Carey and Estrella will both present threats from 3 from the 4 spot, so even if Cade is at the 3 I think you’d still have at least 3 threats from deep on the court, 4 if you’re playing Carey/Estrella at the 4/5.

In short, I think Cade likely doesn’t start and probably gets the least amount of minutes out of that group, again JMO.

Sure, I think I just expected Cade to be in the mix with minutes because of his position on the team as a junior/leader, and he's not a bad player of course, but I do think I'd be happy if he got the least of the bunch as I think skill-wise the others are bigger contributors on offense.

And we know Barnes trusts his experienced guys and typically rewards them, so I could definitely be wrong about Cade, but like you part of that opinion is probably a hopeful mindset on my part.

Guess we'll see how it all shakes out - definitely could be worse problems to have. If Burg/Abram can figure out the 2, and I'm optimistic they can, sky is the limit, man.

CRB said in one of the longer interview type shows that Felix has worked hard on his 3 shot and will be taking some this year. Sounds like everyone is wanting some shots from 3. I’ll believe CRB has his 4’s & 5’s shooting 3’s when I see it.

Didn’t he shoot 100% from 3 last year?

I could also see wanting to pair JP/Felix and Cade/Carre since Cade and Felix are relatively more limited offensively while also being our 2 best shot blockers. I’d think that staggering the 2 of them would make the most sense.

I was thinking this as well, it makes sense to play lineups that don’t include both Okpara and Cade
