Portal is going to be wild this cycle because of all the openings and the fact that there will just be one 15-day period unless your school makes a new hire and then you have to wait 5 days to enter the portal and it will be open for 15 days.

It's going to be so weird with different timings of the portal around the country based on open jobs or new hires. Any coach hired from any playoff team is going to have to work the portal to retain players at their new job as soon as they are announced, while likely coaching a different team in the playoffs, and unless they are doing that within the Jan 2-15 portal, the pool of players available for that coach to build a new team is going to be shallow.

The timing of the announcement of hires will have to be strategic. I don't think this current format lasts very long before someone decides to challenge it in court.

Their pass defense is nearly as bad as ours but they have a strong run defense and only allow about 18 ppg.

I hate to be that "wait until next year" kind of guy but 2026 is shaping up well, especially with our schedule. We have a lot of talent coming in if that talent can grow up quick. Not to mention a lot of youth on this team will have experience.

No Florida or Georgia and all the hard games are at home other than A&M. LSU and Texas don't scare me that much.
