I'm following this manager search more closely than any other, obviously, but it seems unusual for this to be publicly sitting out there for multiple days without a resolution yet. Perhaps it's typical and news that they were "close" to an agreement was leaked when in most other manager searches it isn't.

I'm going to guess this getting leaked four hours before the TSIO game was not good for San Fran in any way.

Surely it is resolved in one way or another tomorrow once the ALCS is over.

I bet SF wouldn't officially announce it until then, but that wouldn't prevent a reporter who received word from coming out with it beforehand. I guess they really are still working stuff out, or TV is still figuring out what he wants to do.

This delay is weird but it is so hard to imagine him not taking this job, even if it is a poor fit for his skill set.

Now that I think about it, there'd be precedent for it, and it isn't like it happened a long time ago. Dan Hurley. The Lakers were going to make him a top 5 or 6 highest paid coach and he told them no. Took less to stay at UConn. He turned down the equivalent of the Yankees or Dodgers to stay in college. They are similar personality-wise too, although Hurley is probably even more unhinged and seems to deal worse with losing.
