It relevant to folks trashing the defense when in fact we faired just as good as Georgia and Vandy. Those schools just didn't spot them 9 points from the offensive side.

Ok then. Love to be wrong, but I doubt it. OKie's D is better than bama's, So UT scores 17, defense gives up 24, Ut has beaten Fla at Fla when? , And right now Vandy is a better overall team than UT. Add it up... All 3 of those teams are miles ahead on DEFENSE.

Yep. I was having this conversation with a friend a few weeks ago. We’ve just entered the top 20 in blue chip ratio for the first time since Heupe arrived. And we’re in the low 50% if memory serves. Kirby didn’t build what’s going on at Georgia, he took over from someone that was already winning 10.5 games per year and added the Saban recruiting hot sauce…Heupel is building this from square zero. 9-10 wins this season was always ALWAYS the ceiling if you’re rational. Pull your heads out of your asses you intolerable losers (for the ones that are “done” with Heupel).

Hopefully Apathy will the Catalyst for change. Heuple is NOT going to get it done! EVER. His UCF teams went steadily down after Frost left. We NOW see that Frost was the real Coach. Ucf is on the comeback.

You CANNOT be serious!! Tennessee will lose to Okie, Fla, and probably Vandy. Geeze . I saw some of the predicted scores for the bama game and I thought, these guys are in for a huge let down.. . Realism never enters into the equation.

I never count any game a concession until it's out of reach within the time remaining. It's SEC football and why they are played. We did make the playoffs at 10-2 last year (And won 10 the previous year?)? We lost to GA and AL both on the road. Everyone expected that. Heck, Bama just has handed UGA their first home loss in 6 years, and that one was to SoCar. Bet they mailed in that season (11-2 if you need to know).

I doubt it, but in this years SEC you got what 14 of 16 teams that could literally win any given week? NIL has made the cellar dwellers formidable opponents. There are no guarunteed wins anymore IMO. Before the season everyone was saying 9-3 would be a great season this year, and here we are listening to these same warriors trash everything.

That’s football. Good teams with good coaching doesn’t make those mistakes. Same penalties every weak. False starts. Can’t line up correctly. Same weak ass defense. Same abysmal play calling. Can’t make the plays that fall in your lap. Fumble could’ve been a scoop and score. Didn’t take advantage of any breaks and they’re weren’t many. You can see where we had opportunities and now you have to ask yourself why we didn’t take advantage of them.

I agree. We have the DNA to be a championship team this year and have shown it. But, we lack the discipline and detail for some reason to make it happen. Lack of discipline has been a mainstay the last few years. We overcome it when we are scoring 40 points. But, those 3 really tough games every year sing a different song.

The center making that snap should never happen...ended what looked to be a scoring drive. 3 15 yard penalties on a drive should never happen. They scored off that. Not taking a field goal instead of a pick 6. Not running the offense all the time that marched the ball down the field on their D with ease. At the core, it's an excellent team. But, there's too many different pages people are playing on. Need to synch everyone up to the same page this week, and we'll be fine. Brazzell and Staley I thought did fine. Matthews dropped some critical drive extending catches.

What's hard for all these doom and gloomers in here is that Bama really did not beat us at home and put us down like a Saban Bama would have. We easily had that game, and our lack of discipline thew it away. Just like UGA. Any reasonable person watching either game would know we should have beat both teams this year on their turf. That much is true. But, it's also why the games are played. But, it happens. No reasonable person back in the Fulmer years would have expected Nebraska to pump us 55 to not much with theat roster we had. Disappointing games have happened for decades. So far this year OSU is the only team without one.

Forget 9-3. Vols lose to Florida at Florida, and would need to sweep Okie, UK, Vandy. Okie HAS a defense. Vandy playing sound football in every phase. UK just took Texas to OT. "I'll believe it when I believe it."

And that's the same mediocre Texas that destroyed that OK defense. And it wasn't that impressive that KY took TX to overtime. TX ain't great. Anything can happen in a game. And if anyone thought KY was gonna be a patsy every week of the season, they haven't paid attention to that developing FR 4* QB they have starting. I'm no where near conceding a UF game this year, even in the swamp. They are not good and they are primed to lose 3 striaght before they get to us. Only thing that jinx's that game is they fire Billy beforehand and they have one of those play for the fired coach games.

Then again, in all my years of being a Vol, I've just been a Vol regardless. I lived through the ups and downs of Johnny Major's teams. Of Fulmer never captalizing on the rosters he recruited. 15 years of a bad administration. Every week is a new week. Saturday's game is in the history books. My life has never truly ended after one of those games. I'm elated to see us play hte way we do again. Nit pick what you will, but not many teams have put up the record Heup has over the last 5 years. Realism = Saban was only coach to bring home Natty's the way he did. tOSU hasn't even done that. Heup had to do what he's done from scratch. This place was a career killer before he got here. We have serious talent that has serious discipline issues, and that's about it.

I think everyone deserves a top 10 coaching staff. And when the games are finished only 10 teams are gonna be top 10. It's the new improved SEC. Only two teams will be Top 10 regardless. Anyone else besides those 2 typically back into it by attrition. Heck, we played GA far better than an undefeated Ole Miss with Lane Kiffin. And they play pretty good looking football come eye test time. It's a weird game sometimes. Last year PSU wouldn't have lost back to back to B10 bottom dwellers, and they have a full half conference of pitful teams. We got none really. Our two worst teams are tough games. The refs are the only reason UGA escaped Auburn.

We do have a pretty extensive injury situation that is a handicap. That's obvious. We got no help in the Defensive backfield. And we got no rotation at WR. So, it's a week to week scenario.
