Penn State forced our hand. We needed all potential replacements to know that the UF job is open so those coaches don’t jump at offers from Penn State or others. Also, we need time to solidify retention of key players before they jump ship.

Can wait for this trainwreck to conclude.

Unapologetically, I wish continuing poor hiring decisions by your university. Tennessee went through its dark period of administration follies. Florida needs to eclipse that.

It would be absolutely criminal if Fl didn’t call Golesh

But it also wouldn’t surprise me if they hired Franklin or Gundy

If they’re spending big $$ though I’m sure Brian Kelly would listen….

@Lawrence Wright @99gator thoughts?
YES! Gundy would be perfect and he would actually take the job.

Already has the mullet. Best fit for a fanbase since Coach O landed at LSU.

I think that idea is a little overblown. The Penn State program is going to be just as good of a job in December as it is now. Same with Florida. And there will be other jobs come open that will be surprises. I would not want to be in Florida's position with all the underlying factors, and having to hire a coach this year. It's going to be even more complicated to hire anyone in the playoffs.

Yes,

But 6-8 other guys will turn them down first.

That is how they ended up with the Gomer known as Hayseed OVC Billy. Why they own him $29m is puzzling...?

Who turned them down the last time?

Their 2017 search was the one that I remember having issues. They were all in on Chip Kelly apparently and he turned them down and they pivoted to Mullen.

As weird as it may sound, Sunbelt Billy was a hot name in the coaching ranks back then. His name even came up in a few of our searches Thank the Big Vol upstairs that hire was never actually made

Rhule will get the PSU job. Franklin will land on his feet somewhere next year. Will FSU go after Deion? Clark Lea should be on the short list of some big time jobs. Going to be an interesting offseason

No to Deion. From what I’ve read, there is some serious bad blood between him and FSU-not to mention, I think he’s more likely to retire than anything, due to his health issues.

I think it's hilarious that no one even bothered making Deion go to class at FSU.

You can't convince me someone in the UAA is not paying this guy to gas up Florida fans. It's going to backfire when they end up with someone other than Kiffin.

Florida will spend big on this next hire, would not be surprised to see Kiffin, Gruden or even Gholesh in play. Gundy could also raise his mulletted head and inquire about it, which would make total sense. Franklin could be on their short list as well. With Napier gone, I do not see the Vols winning in the Swamp.

I hope they get Gruden, I don't think he would work out personally.

Your good with Franklin never winning big games?
I’m a bit surprised honestly but considering where Fl is it’s a big move in the right direction.

Florida is where we are after Pruitt. They need to worry more about getting a good coach in and setting the floor, then worry about the championships later

Gruden is a risky hire and I doubt UF goes in that direction.
