One place that has really changed dramatically is the NBA. In the '80's Pat Riley, Chuck Daly, John McCloud and Mike Fratello wore tailored Italian fashion-designed suits like every game was a wedding or special event. Nowadays? It's fleece sweaters and sneakers. LOL.All I can say is that I miss the days of Majors, Bear, and Dooley Sr when coaches wore sports coats on the sideline. This whole thing of wearing athletic apparel has never sat well with me.
It wasn't "ESPN". It was Chris Fowler, and that's not what he said.He made a statement about trailers that was out of line but never called anyone "trash"Said this a few weeks ago and was a bit flamed for it. Like it or not, when he is shown on the sidelines during nationally televised games, his appearance DOES reflect on the University of Tennessee (coaches, players, fans, etc.). He's not helping UT distance itself from the "trailer trash" ESPN labeled us fans a few years ago.
Fowler was grilled over that by Mike Keith back in 1997. Fowler called the reaction of Tennessee fans to Peyton Manning not winning the Heisman, a "trailer park frenzy" of angry voice mail messages and profanity-laced letters. He did apologize for it.It wasn't "ESPN". It was Chris Fowler, and that's not what he said.He made a statement about trailers that was out of line but never called anyone "trash"
You’re looking to much into this “look” portion of it and creating your own fetish. It’s all discipline. I’m sure you’ve scored many touchdowns in your high school lettermen jacket in the backyard picking on your nephews.you're weird and trying to disguise it wath all this discipline nonsense. a 5-2 team in the sec who could easily be 6-1 or 7-0 is far from undisciplined, but imma let you have your weird rainbow fetish herre bud.
former d-1 recruit in football and baseball so i more than understand. i also understand that no recruit looked at bobby bowden and said "i aint listening or following you because you're out of shape"! the best cb of all-time calls your bluff successfully as well: Primetime
Bringing up records is silly what ifs. We could have just as easily lost two more games if we’re playing that game and be 3-4. And I don’t see the prime reference?you're weird and trying to disguise it wath all this discipline nonsense. a 5-2 team in the sec who could easily be 6-1 or 7-0 is far from undisciplined, but imma let you have your weird rainbow fetish herre bud.

I disagree though. I like his relaxed approach. He wants his guys to be loose and have fun. Fun is something that was so apparent to be missing from UT football for 20 years prior to his arrival in Knoxville. I’d much rather he dress comfortably as look like some goofy stiff out there. As for facial hair, who gives a rip how he decides to wear it? Some of our fans look for the dumbest crap to complain about after we didn’t see the kind of outcome we thought we should have in a game. It’s not as much about image. It’s about leadership, discipline, and setting the example. All of those matter.
The poster likes his discipline. Who are we to judge his fetish?I disagree though. I like his relaxed approach. He wants his guys to be loose and have fun. Guess it depends where you want to have the fun. Saban prob didn’t have much “fun” going on in those locker rooms. But I sure bet his guys had fun winning championships. Tough line to toe and have both I suppose.I disagree though. I like his relaxed approach. He wants his guys to be loose and have fun. No .... this is the kind of thing that comes up when a fan base is mad over the performance on the field.
I never spent one minute of 1998 concerned with having a fat coach.
