Heupel’s weight and facial scruff

Outside of uncontrollable health issues, there is a correlation between weight and self control.

I can’t think of the last coach who won it all who was over weight. Urban, Saban, Day, Miles. I think the last overweight coach to win was Fulmer. If I’m wrong someone feel free to correct me.

How is fit defined?
How many fit coaches are in the FBS?
How many fit coaches don't win it all?

Perhaps the sample size is skewed toward fit?

Andy Reid

He can at moments and then has certain situations that are reoccurring major issues. Mainly with time management.

I think he needs to make some staff changes. If he doesn't it might ultimately do him in like it did Fulmer. He has to bring in some top notch quality coordinators and just let them coach man. Just simply let them coach.

You all suck. Best coach we’ve had in years. Disgusting from some good posting fans. You should be ashamed and deserve the ever dapper Derek Dooley to lead your pretty boy Vols.
Those wanting him gone, i would like to know who they would replace him with. I may disagree or understand some of the clock management, but I would not trade him at this time for any other coach.

The only one I can think of is maybe Kirby Smart

Then I remember that I hate Kirby Smart.

Can the dude lose some weight? i mean for health reasons alone and it would probaly give him a little fire and energy on the sidelines during the games. He wasn’t a big dude in college best i remember. And also shave or grow a beard out make up your mind, his look is so slobbish looking and unprofessional right now for being a major head coach at a big university.
Said this a few weeks ago and was a bit flamed for it. Like it or not, when he is shown on the sidelines during nationally televised games, his appearance DOES reflect on the University of Tennessee (coaches, players, fans, etc.). He's not helping UT distance itself from the "trailer trash" ESPN labeled us fans a few years ago.

Fit is not looking 30 plus pounds overweight. Maybe 40.

And I really don’t know cause I never put much thought into it.

it’s not to much to ask. he’s not coaching a high school team. he’s the CEO and face of a $100M business. Kiffin has understood this and lost weight when we got the OM job. People can say it appearances don’t matter but appearances affect results. People who are well kept and and in good physical shape command more respect.
Not about looks in coaching, results is what matters…This guy is not the GQ of NFL coaching but gets results:

"Looks fit" is not the same as "is fit". I get the point you're aiming at. I just don't think there's much substance to it.

All I can say is that I miss the days of Majors, Bear, and Dooley Sr when coaches wore sports coats on the sideline. This whole thing of wearing athletic apparel has never sat well with me.

He’s a leader making millions. He’s in fact going to get questioned. I don’t care about his appearance. It just so happens his appearance reflects his traits. You obviously don’t understand leadership. Teams reflect leaders. Our team has 0 discipline. That starts at the top whether in relation to eating donuts, getting to facilities early, working hard, or committing a false start.

I suggest you take up reading. Leadership matters. Some of the best leaders in history didn’t have the best teams, warriors, soldiers, players, or resources. It was what they could do with what they had that set them apart.

I have 0 hatred for the guy. He’s a good coach. The question is can he get past “good”? If he can’t dig deep and make some changes my opinion is no. Being loyal is great, but if we don’t see some coaches walking at the end of the season, then he doesn’t have what it takes.
well since we bringing up appearances and traits, how did those things help pruitt, dooley, or jones?

you mean to tell me mr bad appearance in your eyes josh heupel has done a far better job than those guys? say it aint so! defeats that narrative huh! well shucks

It’s almost like the best looking coach doesn’t always mean he will win championships and vice versa. Still very little to do with the argument. Heupel isn’t disciplined, neither his is team. See how they connect? Teams reflect leaders. These guys are supposed to be professionals.

Wouldn’t expect you to understand if you’ve never been in a team environment be it sports, profession, etc.

you're weird and trying to disguise it wath all this discipline nonsense. a 5-2 team in the sec who could easily be 6-1 or 7-0 is far from undisciplined, but imma let you have your weird rainbow fetish herre bud.

former d-1 recruit in football and baseball so i more than understand. i also understand that no recruit looked at bobby bowden and said "i aint listening or following you because you're out of shape"! the best cb of all-time calls your bluff successfully as well: Primetime
