Coaches should be fired

Exactly, how did our defense lose that game for us? They gave up 28 points to an Alabama team that were averaging 38 points their first 6 games. Our defense also created one turnover that should have resulted in at least 3 points for our offense. Our offense gift-wrapped 9 points for Bama. The offense was arguably responsible for, at a minimum, a 10 pt swing just before half last night.

Personally, I felt like our coaches had a solid game plan. Execution from players was a problem. If there is any criticism to throw at the coaches this year it’s at our OC and Heupel with the last three plays of the 2nd half last night and the last few plays of regulation against UGA.

With the above said, I am in no way trashing our head coach or coaching staff. IMO, we have a really good head coach and a solid staff on both sides of the ball. Honestly, I am tired of the Monday Morning QB posts on this forum (experiencing serious amnesia and thinking you know something about coaching football because you watch it on Saturdays and Sundays). We have a solid DC. And it’s going to be tough for any DC to have a great defense when their team’s offense is as up tempo as ours. And for that reason, very few talented DCs would want to come here. Banks had a really good track record before he came to UT. He is still a good DC.

Now, I can’t wait to read all the responses from the idiots in here that try to debunk me with their ‘stats’ and “but Banks always gives up 3rd down conversions”. Blah, blah, blah. Go ahead. I refuse to argue with idiots. Instead, I’ll get my popcorn and coke and prepared to be entertained by all ya’ll MMQBs. View attachment 782867
So you cannot be reasoned with and won’t listen to stats. Sounds perfectly reasonable.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while....one good year and 4 bad ones do not make a great coach.

If that were the case, we should have just kept Jones...He was the first to beat UF and the last coach to beat UGA (at UGA).
2021 W 7 - L 6
2022 W 11 - L 2
2023 W 9 - L 4
2024 W 10 - L 3

Your comments lacks credibility. How about 3 good years out of 4?

Yes, and having both McCoy and Gibson back would not fix that
Yes, it actually might fix that. Do you think having more reliable corners allows you to keep the linebackers from having to drop as deep? I myself, being a dumb offensive lineman, can figure that one out.

Well, Alabama lost to a 3-4 FSU team this year, lost to us, Vandy, OU and UM last year, Alabama has all the big and physical guys, right?
Alabama also kicked our ass last night, has beaten 4 straight ranked teams, and are #4 in the country at this very second.

Personally, I don’t think offensive lineman are dumb, and you may be right that it could help, but even on short yardage, we leave the middle open even when our LB are in close. Slant are always there even last year, we had trouble on third downs on those. This coming from a dumb DB and WR playing college ball

Whatever they did after game 1 we need to start doing.
That's years and years of top recruiting classes, at some point the talent level difference takes over but, doesn't mean they are unbeatable. Remember last year most all Alabama fans wanted Deboer fired and even after game 1 this year they wanted him gone. Within the next 5 years their dominance in recruiting will be gone for them and UGA, the NIL is gonna equal most of that out, I think that's why Saban got out.

Listening to the "I want to be miserable " crowd. One can learn 1/2 the college football coaches in America should get the pink slip Monday morning.

We have a good team better than most, I plan to support this team for the rest of my life.
I support the Vols, however, clock management needs to improve, as well as play calling. With this said I wouldn't trade Hype for any other coach.

Maybe. I think that bunch down there will still do anything to win , legal or not. Saban was a great coach but he had a entire network of people making sure they were 3 deep with 5 start talent the majority of the time he was there. Those people are still around and won't sit on their hands while everyone catches up to them. They're still out recruiting Tennessee who supposedly has one of the best NIL deals around. Make it make sense.

Tennessee is a top ten program of all time and definitely a blue blood...just stop and the SEC didn't suck in the 90s
Obviously because Bama wasn't the top dog in the 90's folks think SEC football was bad. There were just different teams at the top.

Until we start recruiting the same players we will not compete for anything other than 3-4place in the SEC

While recruiting is still important, in the modern college football era, working the portal is how teams are going to remain competitive. Those coaches, like Dabo, who refuse to participate will be left in the dust.

That your drivel about what happened seven weeks ago or last year is irrelevant.

If Bama wins out, that game will be irrelevant - if Alabama loses a game or two, that loss counts and folks now realize the 14 point loss was not a quality loss.

They have benefited in the polls, because they lost the first game, so as other teams have lost they have moved up in the polls.

I do. It wasn’t the defense that let us down yesterday. The D wasn’t stellar but it would’ve been good enough to win if not for the multitude of offensive mistakes.
So what’s the excuse for all the other sec games we nearly lost? Especially to lesser talented teams.

As long as Georgia and Alabama are recruiting 5 stars, nobody is a good enough coach to beat them with our 3 stars.
I hear what you‘re saying and don’t disagree in theory but then you watch Vandy beat Bama last year and 2-3 years ago I believe USCe beat UGA so that’s what makes it frustrating
So you honestly think we should keep Banks? You support that?
As for last night our D only gave up 28 points to probably the #2 team in the country? We all know they’re better than A&M and Indiana. Our O lost this game.
