Coaches should be fired

So your idea is to fire coaches every few years? Is that your recipe for success? Did you come up with this by yourself? Do you apply this levelmof thinking to your e everyday life or just fantasy situations that you have no control over?
My idea is to do the same thing as how I run my business. If someone is inept at their job, I let them know about it and have no problem replacing replace them it they can't get it together.
Heupel would be on thin ice if I was actually in charge. Banks and Martinez would be gone.

Banks has to go, and Martinez. Both are inept. Some want to blame the kids for this. Who is responsible for having these kids here. Are we missing on what a sec football player is, are we not able to coach them into a quality player. Either way it’s on the coaches. This defense is horrible. No excuse after 5 years. Change has to be made
I fault whoever is running the tackling drills. Seriously, that is the worst exhibition of tackling that I’ve ever seen.

Nobody is getting fired especially not Banks. There may be some position coach changes but nothing of significance. We can only hope what we have gets better but don’t hold your breath.

Absolutely, these coaches aren’t being held accountable. So not a lot of desire to put in the hard work to excel, or just plain incapable of doing so

Oh yeah, I’ll be watching and supporting the good guys every week. Not just when I think we have a great shot of playing for the conference crown.

I do think the play-calling HAS to improve and that Heupel needs some self reflection on some of his time management issues. Joey has been much better than I expected this season, but that pick at the goal line was brutally bad. That was his issue at App State, he put the ball in harm’s way too often sometime. But we also had some questionable calls at key times on O that won’t cut it for a team that is clearly limited on D.

Seems like going a bit more run-heavy and cutting down on the stupid pre snap penalties would help. I love Josh Heupel, so I hope he makes some changes. Criticism of the play-calls and the annoying penalties is fair though.
That's fair, penalties have been a killer. Theriot sustaining drives is really tasking the D. Seems LBs are trying to help the secondary and leaving the middle open. Tackling was poor. Bama might just be the best in NCAA.

I like CJH but not sure he’s the answer anymore.

Something has changed in how he coaches .
He doesnt have the fire and intensity that he used to have . He’s became predictable and is holding back . There is a vast difference in offense since Golesh left . Banks peaked last year ..

Can he turn the ship around ? Yes
But will he ? Who knows…

If we move on from Banks, I’d maybe support Inge as DC.
The continuity with the staff and not losing recruits would be helpful - but I am concerned with the tackling and coverage from Arion and Telander

His first two years we were running at lightning pace without the long pause between plays. Went for 4th down a lot and converted. Playcalling was creative. I think some success has made him more conservative which makes no sense. Of course some of it is teams learning how to matchup better but “at the end of the day” you still have to line up and make plays. It seems he’s his own worst enemy now.

Yeah tackling is not up to the standard either. Sadly the Bammers have another good team.

There needs to be some staff changes.
NIL needs to be used heavily on the portal this off season instead of spending money on HS kids
CJH is safe for now

Listening to the "I want to be miserable " crowd. One can learn 1/2 the college football coaches in America should get the pink slip Monday morning.

We have a good team better than most, I plan to support this team for the rest of my life.
One can support a team, yet still be unhappy with coaching flaws. Heup has had some real clown moments this season.

Gotta love VN logic:

You can criticize a politician.

You can criticize the employee that forgot to put the food item in your bag at fast food restaurant.

You can criticize the food at a fine dining establishment.

You can criticize the service that you received from a business.

But don’t dare ever criticize the head football coach at the University of Tennessee.

I’ve never understood why so many “fans” of The University of Tennessee sports teams cheer more for the coach than the T on the jerseys.

You may be an "expert" in whatever field your business is in, but fans are only experts in chaos. And if you run your business like that, that's a reflection on you as an owner. Who hires untrainable inept people? Who's training these people? You've got to look in the mirror bud.

No we need to go get someone good. Keep Garner and let a proven DC bring in a couple other guys.

so one good year with multiple draft picks? That’s what you’re hanging your Banks hat on?
Exactly, how did our defense lose that game for us? They gave up 28 points to an Alabama team that were averaging 38 points their first 6 games. Our defense also created one turnover that should have resulted in at least 3 points for our offense. Our offense gift-wrapped 9 points for Bama. The offense was arguably responsible for, at a minimum, a 10 pt swing just before half last night.

Personally, I felt like our coaches had a solid game plan. Execution from players was a problem. If there is any criticism to throw at the coaches this year it’s at our OC and Heupel with the last three plays of the 2nd half last night and the last few plays of regulation against UGA.

With the above said, I am in no way trashing our head coach or coaching staff. IMO, we have a really good head coach and a solid staff on both sides of the ball. Honestly, I am tired of the Monday Morning QB posts on this forum (experiencing serious amnesia and thinking you know something about coaching football because you watch it on Saturdays and Sundays). We have a solid DC. And it’s going to be tough for any DC to have a great defense when their team’s offense is as up tempo as ours. And for that reason, very few talented DCs would want to come here. Banks had a really good track record before he came to UT. He is still a good DC.

Now, I can’t wait to read all the responses from the idiots in here that try to debunk me with their ‘stats’ and “but Banks always gives up 3rd down conversions”. Blah, blah, blah. Go ahead. I refuse to argue with idiots. Instead, I’ll get my popcorn and coke and prepared to be entertained by all ya’ll MMQBs. 1760903614968.png
