He had a guy in his face (to the right) and another guy right in front of him. He couldn’t zip it. That ball was picked off either way. The defender dictated that throwPick 6 was not risk just a poor throw. Most of his others have not been gunslinger crap but 50 50 deep ball like punts on 3rd down or off hands of WR’s. I’ve been fine with him outside that throw and I’m wondering how much injury played a part. He is a gunslinger
Exactly. The player call was predictable. There are certainly other play calls that could have put the players in a better position to be successful. But with that said. That play call. That type of pass is expected to be thrown high and outside. It is a basic TD or ball lands safely at the pylon throw. As a coach you have confidence your QB can execute that. It's not like we called a play that required the QB to try to thread a needle into the middle of the field in a condensed endzone. You have confidence your QB doesn’t make such a horrible throw behind the receiver where you throw it only where he can catch it OR it’s out of bounds. Joey just threw one of his worse throws this year. I’m ok with a fade call to Chris BUT still have to throw it where only he can catch it or out of bounds. Bad throw could still be a big issue.
It was 1 one pass rusher that generated almost all the pressure. 3 sacks…. He has 4 sacks all season now. He’s the same one that caused the safetyThe LOS was the most surprising part of the game based on what we had seen from both teams coming into the game. Our DL did phenomenal against the run. Completely stonewalled them. But the DL got almost no pressure on dropbacks. That was unexpected. And their DL had not been very good at pressure on dropbacks and our OL had been great in protection. What happened there?
The defense was not close to the reason for the lost last nightOffense could be better with play calls and clock management, but it's not broken. We're getting much better QB play out of Joey than we ever did from Nico. It's the defense that is broken. Safety play is not good. Missing McCoy and Gibson is killing our secondary. Redmond shouldn't be playing as much as he is considering he's a true freshman. LB play needs to be better. I think Carter is fine. I think Telander is serviceable. But I don't think they should be on the field at the same time. We need a speedier LB for coverage. And honestly, this DL is not as good as last years. Some people thought I complained too much about not getting more defensive help from the portal. Now we're seeing why I wanted more defensive help from the portal. Attention needs to be put on both sides of the ball, not just the offense. Some ar under the impression that offense alone will do it, but you have to be solid on both sides of the ball in the SEC.
True slightly his fault but not most of the blame. One of the other INT’s was straight deflected 20 feet in the air. I think it was against UAB
He’s made some mistakes, he’s pretty good not great. Good enough to have the team at 7-0
There's also no guarantee they are going to get the sort of officiating in the playoffs they get at home. That can't ever be underestimated. I think we beat Bama 7 out of 10 times neutral site and fairly-called game. Not reality so I'm not complaining. Just saying. They aren’t physical enough under Deboer. I also think Simpson is more dink and dunk. He’s better than I thought but still has some limitations.
He played about as good as he could have against ugaYeah, love Joey and he's not the reason we've lost 2 games. But he's also the starting QB...and if in those 2 games he had played great and mistake free we're also 7-0
I'm just happy we're seeing Bishop and the rushing game get going... our passing attack really requires us to be gashing teams in the run.
Legitimate question. If the ball s thrown where is it was supposed to be thrown; which throw is more risky. Not saying a jumpball at Brazzell is bad call. But I wonder if it's legitimate to think about jumpball into rolled coverage could deflect into an interception more often than the type of throw on the play we ran. Again, assuming the throw is put where it should have been thrown.Yes, no timeouts. I would have thrown a fade. Then kicked a fg if it were dropped. Pts matter in this game, especially when they have the lead and get the ball to start the half.
Probably the most incorrect statement posted this week!!!Everyone is pissed off and wants to fire the guy that has given them a reason to care again
I think Billy already knows too. I watch his press conf on local news here and he basically almost broke down crying. Kind of felt bad for the guy because he does still show passion and he kept saying I love football where he could just show IDGAF attitude with a high buy out and walk away into the sunset wealthy. The entire Florida media is at their football facility today. It really does seem like something is going to happen with Napier.
He deserves to be fired but UF fans booing him as he walked off the field last night, after a WIN, was reallyI think Billy already knows too. I don't know, my guy. I'm not sure I buy that. I see the way Billy coaches games. It's going to take a lot more than that to convince me he's that concerned about keeping his job.I think Billy already knows too.
