Fire Willie Martinez

Josh is sloppy, undisciplined, and overweight. The team plays like that. I’m. It happy with him. He needs to make a lot of staff changes and change the way he does things. He needs to win more and lose less. He needs to manage games better
A team either respects the coach and his staff or it doesn't. Once lost, respect is rarely regained. Just look at the difference in UCLA once they made the change. Same roster, but the transformation is incredible. Nico looks like a totally different player under this new coach. Since we've been told UCLA has an awful roster compared to ours, it begs the question....was Nico really the problem at UT? Or did this staff not know how to tailor the offense to fit what Nico does best? Was it Heupel? The OC? Both? Interesting to think about.

Can’t blame DBC- had two critical injuries that changed the backside D

Key is that the players behind them should be better. Teams have injuries, losing a couple of players should not derail your entire defense because the players behind them should be better.

I am also not 100% convinced that having McCoy and Gibbons back would totally solve the Defensive woes.

It’s tough, injuries are a big issue with this group.

But, the same things are showing up with new/young guys. Not being in phase, not locating the ball, and getting big PI’s in spots where they just can’t. We’ve made very mid QBs look like superstars bc our DB’s just play bad.

Most of our DBs look like they're afraid of contact. I've given up on how they defend the pass as long as Martinez is coach, but could they at least hit folks and wrap up? Even Vandy does that. We just look so soft and timid.

We can't be just firing coaches after every game
Lord help, we wouldn't have any if they paid attention to this platform.

I’d like to hear an explanation of the 3rd and 2 late in the third quarter. Show pressure, then drop everyone, 15 yards, leaving the middle of the field open for a simple pitch and catch with the tight end.
They do it every time. It's ridiculous.

I agreed to fire him two years ago. Literally nothing has changed....Willy hasn't changed and neither has my outlook. He's consistent, I'll give him that , which is why he needs to go.

CJH needs to understand, he's only as good as those around him. To be better, sometimes you have to improve your own situation.

No coaches will be fired - in my opinion - unless we lose three more games. 7-5 probably means Martinez gets canned.

I think we lose to Oklahoma and Florida and finish 8-4. If that happens . . . But we beat Vandy and Kentucky . . . No changes will be made. Lose to either Vandy or Kentucky . . . And folks will be moved out.

Firing assistants first is always the beginning of the end for the head coach.

Vandy is less talented but more disciplined across the board from what I’ve seen. That’s could easily be a loss at the end of the season. If so, that means we’re likely 7-5. If Danny White doesn’t make Heupel can Banks and Martinez then, then we’re settling on the long road of mediocrity.

Same old thing, Only reason last year they were good is because of transfers and an elite DL. I know it wont happen becasue Josh is too loyal, but It needs to be done.

Brother, in my opinion, this whole staff needs to go. I’m done with the Heup train. They’ve had five years to put up what will probably be a 7-5 record this year—at best. We are not beating FL, OK and probably Vandy. We may lose to KY. My guess is our boosters are starting to talk about an exit strategy.

Agree.

I can’t bring myself to believe we will possibly lose to Vandy. But we could with our undisciplined play versus their disciplined play and Pavia is a difference maker.

Being at home gives us an advantage. As pops as CJH teams have been on the road . . . He has been equally good at home.

For reference, FL had 4 DB starters out against MSST tonight and started 4 true freshman. According to some on here, MSST is a tough out yet a middling FL team was able to win despite the injuries. Just saying ...

The writing is clearly on the wall now.
They will fire some people this year to take heat off of him, but it's him. He's the problem.
So we lost our QB, lost 3 OL , 3 WR , 2 starting CB, and everyone wants to fire everybody ?? RIDICULOUS !! Remember when they fired Fulmer? How long did it take to get back ?

We have a better QB than we did last year.
Our problems aren't even necessarily talent. We have enough. Both games we lost coaching made errors. If you can't see that I don't know what to tell you.

It's been happening for 4 years, same old soft defense. Just like Alabama's first possession we have them backed up deep and it's 3rd and long and you know what is about to happen= an automatic pass for a 1st down that gets them out of bad field position, the drive stays alive and they march all the way down and score. Rinse and repeat
Tim Banks defense identity with any top ranked offenses is true pacifism. Offense come and do what you want to us. We will never resort to forcefully stopping it with violence. Never has adjustments. It’s obvious when he blitzes. Never runs stunts or anything else that could confuse the qb or offensive line. Same thing you’d see playing against the cpu on the easiest difficulty.

Why bring up his appearance? Such a juvenile thing to do. Criticize his coaching but his weight doesn't make a damn bit of difference. You morons look for anything to talk bad about our coach.
Thank you. Anyone that somehow equates dropped passes and missed tackles to the coach being overweight or unshaven is an idiot. I would love to see what some of these guys look like.

Boosters need to get in Danny White’s ear, if they’re not already. Heupel, et al will be invited to leave only when that happens. If we wilt to a 7-5 season in Heupel’s fifth year, it may happen. This team is not beating FL, OK and probably not Vandy.
