I’m not acting like they a juggernaut. They are capable of beating us though. We will beat some teams that are capable of beating us and we will lose to one or two.

UPDATED PREDICTION (10/12/25):

SEC

Georgia (5-1,3-1) -
Ole Miss, Florida, @ Mississippi St, Texas, Charlotte, @ Georgia Tech
Ole Miss (6-0, 3-0) - @ Georgia, @ Oklahoma, South Carolina, The Citadel, Florida, @ Mississippi St
Tennessee (5-1, 2-1) - @ Alabama, @ Kentucky, Oklahoma, New Mexico St, @ Florida, Vanderbilt
Oklahoma (5-1, 1-1) - @ South Carolina, Ole Miss, @ Tennessee, @ Alabama, Mizzou, LSU
LSU (5-1, 2-1) - @ Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, @ Alabama, Arkansas, Western Kentucky, @ Oklahoma
Texas A&M (6-0, 3-0) - @ Arkansas, @ LSU, @ Mizzou, South Carolina, Samford, @ Texas
Alabama (5-1, 3-0) - Tennessee, @ South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma, E. Illinois, @ Auburn
Mizzou (5-1, 1-1) - @ Auburn, @ Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Mississippi St, @ Oklahoma, @ Arkansas

- Ole Miss, Texas A&M, UGA, Tennessee, LSU, Bama all lead playoff race
- Texas beating Oklahoma keeps them barely alive for SEC title race, but still unlikely for either that or playoffs
- Oklahoma in big trouble now with the rest of their schedule
- Mizzou still has small shot but still likely to lose a few games
- This next week goes a long way towards separating some teams

Big Ten
Oregon (5-1, 2-1) - @ Rutgers, Wisconsin, @ Iowa, Minnesota, USC, @ Washington
Ohio St (6-0, 3-0) - @ Wisconsin, Penn St, @ Purdue, UCLA, Rutgers, @ Michigan
Indiana (6-0, 3-0) - Michigan St, UCLA, @ Maryland, @ Penn St, Wisconsin, @ Purdue
USC (5-1, 3-1) - @ Notre Dame, @ Nebraska, Northwestern, Iowa, @ Oregon, UCLA

- Ohio St, Indiana, and Oregon are locks no matter what
- USC is in with 2 of 3 vs ND, Michigan, Oregon (we need them to beat Notre Dame to be safe)
- Washington and Nebraska are still long shots but still possible

ACC
Miami (5-0, 1-0)
- Louisville, Stanford, @ SMU, Syracuse, NC State, @ Virginia Tech, @ Pittsburgh
Georgia Tech (6-0, 3-0) - @ Duke, Syracuse, @ NC State, @ Boston College, Pittsburgh, Georgia
Virginia (5-1, 3-0) - Washington St, @ UNC, @ California, Wake Forest, @ Duke, Virginia Tech

- Miami is probably a lock in the ACC title game (they better not lose to SMU or Pitt, at 11-1 they may be left out of ACC and playoffs)
- Ga Tech has the schedule to make the ACC title game, could be a possible at-large at 11-2
- UVA and Duke still have a legitimate shot at the ACC title game as well

Big XII
Texas Tech (6-0, 3-0)
-@ Arizona St, Oklahoma St, @ Kansas St, BYU, UCF, @ WVU
BYU (6-0, 3-0) - Utah, @ Iowa St, @ Texas Tech, TCU, @ Cincinnati, UCF
Utah (5-1, 2-1) - @ BYU, Colorado, Cincinnati, @ Baylor, Kansas St, @ Kansas

- Texas Tech and BYU/Utah Winner looks to be the title game barring upsets, likely no shot at an at-large playoff spot

Everyone Else (The Undeserving)
Notre Dame (4-2) - USC, @ Boston College, Navy, @ Pittsburgh, Syracuse, @ Stanford

UNLV (6-0, 2-0) - @ Boise St, New Mexico, @ Colorado St, Utah St, Hawaii, @ Nevada

Navy (6-0, 4-0) - FAU, @ North Texas, @ Notre Dame, USF, @ Memphis, Army
Tulane (5-1, 2-0) - Army, @ UTSA, @ Memphis, FAU, at Temple, Charlotte
Memphis (6-0, 2-0) - @ UAB, USF, @ Rice, Tulane, @ East Carolina, Navy

- Notre Dame MIGHT get in at 10-2, but it's not a given; USC vs ND might be playoff eliminating spot this week
- UNLV has a shot if they go undefeated, but it still might not be enough schedule wise to grab the G5 spot over the AAC champ
- The AAC Champ will go pretty much as long as they are 11-2 are better (Memphis, Navy, Tulane, North Texas, and USF all have a shot still)

PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS

First Round

(9) USC vs. (8) Tennessee
(12) Tulane vs. (5) Oregon
(11) Ole Miss vs. (6) Texas A&M
(10) Alabama vs. (7) Texas Tech

2nd Round
Tennessee vs. (1) Ohio State (Rose Bowl)
Oregon vs. (4) Miami (Cotton Bowl)
Texas A&M vs. (3) Indiana (Orange Bowl)
Alabama vs. (2) Georgia (Sugar Bowl)

The grid is updated.

Texas will move back into the rankings, not that they will mean much.

Next week has a chance to really weed things out with LSU vs Vandy, OU traveling to South Carolina, Ole Miss vs UGA, Tennessee vs Bama, and Mizzou traveling to Auburn.

My wish list would be Vandy winning over LSU, OU beating South Carolina, Ole Miss beating Kirby, Tennessee winning in T Town, and Auburn dropping Mizzou.

Would result in A&M/Ole Miss undefeated, Bama/LSU/UGA/Mizzou getting their second losses with the 1 loss teams being Tennessee, Vandy, and Oklahoma. Both who are remaining on our schedule.

I will bet you a buffalo nickel that by the time OU comes to Neyland, we will be a touchdown favorite.
OU is going to beat SC and possibly Ole Miss at home. Tenn is likely to lose at Bama then find a way to be unimpressive vs Kentucky. I'm just not seeing it.

Who we need to cheer for this week:

Tennessee over Bama (obviously)
Vandy over LSU
South Carolina over Oklahoma
Georgia over Ole Miss
Arkansas over Texas A&M
Kentucky over Texas
Auburn over Mizzou
Minnesota over Nebraska
Washington over Michigan
Wisconsin over Ohio St
Michigan St over Indiana
Rutgers over Oregon
USC over Notre Dame
Louisville over Miami
Duke over Georgia Tech
Arizona St over Texas Tech

Mateer is still injured and is only going to stay that way with continuing to play. There is nothing that was shown today that shows they are capable of going to South Carolina and being a decisive a favorite.

I still remain firm they will be a 2 loss team at best by the time they come to Neyland but I would not be shocked if they drop all 3 league games before our game

Zero? Ridiculous.
Correct. It’s been over 4 years since a team that isn’t named Georgia has won in Neyland.

Oklahoma with a maimed quarterback who has been greatly overrated stands no chance in Neyland.

PDATED PREDICTION (10/19/25):

SEC

Texas A&M (7-0, 4-0) -
@ LSU, @ Mizzou, South Carolina, Samford, @ Texas
Alabama (6-1, 4-0) - @ South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma, E. Illinois, @ Auburn
Georgia (6-1, 4-1) - Florida, @ Mississippi St, Texas, Charlotte, @ Georgia Tech
Ole Miss (6-1, 3-1) - @ Oklahoma, South Carolina, The Citadel, Florida, @ Mississippi St
Tennessee (5-2, 2-2) - @ Kentucky, Oklahoma, New Mexico St, @ Florida, Vanderbilt
Oklahoma (6-1, 2-1) - Ole Miss, @ Tennessee, @ Alabama, Mizzou, LSU
Mizzou (6-1, 2-1) - @ Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Mississippi St, @ Oklahoma, @ Arkansas

- Texas A&M and Bama inch closer to locking down SEC title appearances, with UGA right behind; those three teams are getting close to locks barring some upsets
- Ole Miss has a shot at 10-2
- Tennessee is in at 10-2, obviously has to win out, Tennessee vs Oklahoma is an elimination game in 2 weeks
- Mizzou has a small shot at 10-2 but unlikely due to SOS and their remaining opponents
- Texas/LSU have to win out to even be considered

Big Ten
Ohio St (7-0, 4-0) - Penn St, @ Purdue, UCLA, Rutgers, @ Michigan
Indiana (7-0, 4-0) - UCLA, @ Maryland, @ Penn St, Wisconsin, @ Purdue
Oregon (6-1, 3-1) - Wisconsin, @ Iowa, Minnesota, USC, @ Washington

- Ohio St, Indiana, and Oregon are locks no matter what
- Washington, Illinois, USC, Michigan have to win out to even be considered

- Syracuse, @ NC State, @ Boston College, Pittsburgh, Georgia
Virginia (6-1, 3-0) - @ UNC, @ California, Wake Forest, @ Duke, Virginia Tech
SMU (5-2, 3-0) - @ Wake Forest, Miami, @ Boston College, Louisville, @ California
Miami (5-1, 1-1) - Stanford, @ SMU, Syracuse, NC State, @ Virginia Tech, @ Pittsburgh

- Ga. Tech and UVA favorites to make the ACC title game due to uneven schedule; SMU and Miami still have shots
- Ga Tech or Miami are the only two who MIGHT could squeeze in an at-large depending on ND and other teams

Big XII
BYU (7-0, 4-0)
- @ Iowa St, @ Texas Tech, TCU, @ Cincinnati, UCF
Cincinnati (6-1, 4-0) - @ Utah, Arizona, BYU, @ TCU

Arizona St (6-1, 3-1) - Houston, @ Iowa St, WVU, @ Colorado, Arizona
Texas Tech (6-1, 3-1) - Oklahoma St, @ Kansas St, BYU, UCF, @ WVU

- BYU/Texas Tech winner looks to be in Big XII title game against who knows; This is definitely a 1 bid conference

Everyone Else (The Undeserving)
Notre Dame (5-2) - @ Boston College, Navy, @ Pittsburgh, Syracuse, @ Stanford

Navy (6-0, 4-0) - FAU, @ North Texas, @ Notre Dame, USF, @ Memphis, Army
Tulane (6-1, 3-0) - @ UTSA, @ Memphis, FAU, at Temple, Charlotte
USF (6-1, 3-0) - @ Memphis, UTSA, @ Navy, @ UAB, Rice
Memphis (6-1, 2-1) - USF, @ Rice, Tulane, @ East Carolina, Navy

- Notre Dame MIGHT get in at 10-2, but it's not a given
- With UNLV losing, the AAC Champ will go as the G5 spot and #12 seed period (crazy scenario is that Navy makes the AAC title game after losing to Army (doesn't count as conf game) and gets the playoff spot anyway.

UPDATED PREDICTION (10/26/25):

SEC

Texas A&M (8-0, 5-0) -
@ Mizzou, South Carolina, Samford, @ Texas
Alabama (7-1, 5-0) - LSU, Oklahoma, E. Illinois, @ Auburn
Georgia (6-1, 4-1) - Florida, @ Mississippi St, Texas, Charlotte, @ Georgia Tech
Ole Miss (7-1, 4-1) - South Carolina, The Citadel, Florida, @ Mississippi St
Tennessee (6-2, 3-2) - Oklahoma, New Mexico St, @ Florida, Vanderbilt

- Texas A&M and Bama inch closer to locking down SEC title appearances, with UGA right behind; those three teams are locks barring some upsets
- Ole Miss inching closer, and should be doing ok barring upsets (which are still possible with Kiffin coached team)
- Tennessee is in at 10-2, obviously has to win out and has its toughest game this week vs Oklahoma
- Texas has a small shot IF they win out and beat UGA and Texas A&M but not likely
- LSU, Oklahoma, Mizzou all but dead

Big Ten
Ohio St (7-0, 4-0) - Penn St, @ Purdue, UCLA, Rutgers, @ Michigan
Indiana (8-0, 5-0) - @ Maryland, @ Penn St, Wisconsin, @ Purdue
Oregon (7-1, 4-1) - @ Iowa, Minnesota, USC, @ Washington

- Ohio St, Indiana, and Oregon are locks no matter what
- Iowa has become an interesting case if they upset Oregon and win out, one to watch as a possible spoiler
- The Big Ten is trying to "will" Michigan into an at-large spot if you saw the officiating in their game vs Michigan St. They still have to win out
- Washington, USC, Nebraska still have minor shots if they win out and others lose

ACC
Georgia Tech (8-0, 5-0)
- @ NC State, @ Boston College, Pittsburgh, Georgia
Virginia (7-1, 4-0) - @ California, Wake Forest, @ Duke, Virginia Tech
Miami (6-1, 2-1) - @ SMU, Syracuse, NC State, @ Virginia Tech, @ Pittsburgh

- Ga. Tech and UVA favorites to make the ACC title game due to uneven schedules UVA keeps living on the edge of luck but likely will not get an at-large due to weak schedule and play
- Miami has a shot at an at-large but others have to lose to make that happen (especially praying for Notre Dame and the SEC #4/5 to lose
- SMU was eliminated; Louisville, Pitt and Duke technically still can make the ACC title game

Big XII
BYU (8-0, 5-0)
- @ Texas Tech, TCU, @ Cincinnati, UCF
Cincinnati (7-1, 5-0) - @ Utah, Arizona, BYU, @ TCU
Houston (7-1, 4-1) - @ Arizona St, WVU, @ UCF, TCU, @ Baylor
Texas Tech (7-1, 4-1) - Oklahoma St, @ Kansas St, BYU, UCF, @ WVU

Tulane (6-1, 3-0) - @ UTSA, @ Memphis, FAU, at Temple, Charlotte
Memphis (7-1, 3-1) - USF, @ Rice, Tulane, @ East Carolina, Navy

- Notre Dame MIGHT get in at 10-2, but it's not a given
- The AAC champ is very much likely to be the #12 seed; With Golesh choking away that game vs Tiger High, The AAC champ will likely be Tulane vs Navy (unless Memphis beats them both which is unlikely)

My gut at end of year records RIGHT NOW
SEC: Alabama (12-1), Texas A&M (12-1), Georgia (11-1), Tennessee (10-2), Ole Miss (10-2)
B10: Ohio State (13-0), Indiana (12-1), Oregon (10-2)

Navy (7-0, 5-0) - FAU, @ North Texas, @ Notre Dame, USF, @ Memphis, Army

ACC: Miami (12-1), Ga Tech (11-2), Virginia (10-2)
Big12: BYU (12-1), Texas Tech (11-2), Houston (10-2), Utah (10-2)
Notre Dame (10-2)
Tulane (12-1)

PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS

First Round
(9) Oregon vs. (8) Tennessee
(12) Tulane vs. (5) Georgia
(11) Notre Dame vs. (6) Indiana
(10) Ole Miss vs. (7) BYU

Ricky, I think you continue to sleep on Vandy in your analysis. They have at Texas, Auburn, Kentucky, and at Tennessee left. If they beat the Longhorns this Saturday (who have not looked good, and Arch may not play), I don’t see how they come into Neyland with more than 1 loss. That game may very well be a play-in game for the CFP.

Vandy's smoke and mirrors will come crashing down Saturday, if they are 10-1 coming into Neyland I will reassess, but they have relied on their soft schedule and were lucky Mizzou's QB broke his leg

You’ve been saying this the entire season. After they destroyed VT & South Carolina both at their place, and then beat LSU and now Missouri. Have you really watched their games this year because I have—they are a solid team who is playing very well. They played Alabama closer than us despite numerous turnovers. Soft schedule? They’ve beaten 2 ranked teams to our zero! Your bias is leaving a gaping hole in the reliability in your analysis.

I've watched their games, LSU is not that great especially on offense, SC is not that great especially on offense, VT is not that great especially on offense, Mizzou is not that great especially on offense
They've beaten "ranked teams" the way Indiana beat Illinois who was "ranked"....it's fool's gold...I've also watched teams like Utah State and Georgia St and those aforementioned teams walk up and down the field on Vandy.. Utah St was closer to scoring 50 points then being shut down...even LSU moved at will on them and self-destructed themselves.

And it's not bias it's reality...Mizzou would have beaten them if their coach took FGs instead of being a moron and their QB didn't break his leg forcing them to play a 3rd string freshman with no experience and they STILL almost beat Vandy.

It's smoke and mirrors....Tennessee will absolutely dog walk Vandy in Neyland and secure their playoff spot

You have to do a Reality Check with Vandy. You have to figure a way predict all the teams in contention and not exclud Vanderbilt in the mix is a blind eye.
That game could be in the 100s their defense is far better than ours.
