Plenty of blame to go around in this one, but Joey picked the wrong game to make some critical mistakes that absolutely killed us and put us in the hole.m. Defensive line didn’t get home and the back half of our D got middle schooled by the Bama recievers with poor coverage and even worse tackling. That said… this defensive coaching staff needs some changes.

Yes, that was 7 points - which takes it down to 10. If we had scored that would have been either a 7 or 3 difference. Then there is no doubt that the passed FG's would have been attempted.

Many folks don't understand the impact that momentum can have.

I’d have been completely happy with taking that field goal before the half. Would have opened second half with a small deficit and gone up on the TD after holding their drive. You’re playing on the road in the SEC. You do not pass on points in that situation.

Dont forget the safety. Offense netted 11 points.
As bad as the defense is, somehow only gave up 4 scoring drives.

17 point loss. And we served up 14 points on a silver platter and possibly 21 that had nothing to do with playing at Bama.

3 15 yard defensive penalties on same scoring drive.

The 15 yard potential loss that we missed 4 plus tackles on for a 25 yard first down and eventual score when the drive should have stopped.

Plus drive killing mistakes on Atleast two drives we were driving strong. The snap that shouldn’t have been snapped.

The reality is we took a potential 14 point win and choked on a 17 point cigar.

That’s football. Good teams with good coaching doesn’t make those mistakes. Same penalties every weak. False starts. Can’t line up correctly. Same weak ass defense. Same abysmal play calling. Can’t make the plays that fall in your lap. Fumble could’ve been a scoop and score. Didn’t take advantage of any breaks and they’re weren’t many. You can see where we had opportunities and now you have to ask yourself why we didn’t take advantage of them.

I’m not so sure. He may resign and the reason I say that is, he’s the AD’s guy. His failure reflects on the AD. Unless boosters and fans lose interest and the money flow slows, I think he’s safe even into mediocrity. I’m a bit of a conspiracy theorist but I tend to see self preservation more as I age.
