Tony Vitello to SF Giants (Merged )

If we beat Alabama in football tonight, everyone will forget he's leaving lol. Smart timing, imo.

People will not forget about Tony regardless of tonight’s result. A win eases the pain momentarily but people won’t forget losing the best coach on campus.

Hail Mary to retain CTV:
1) Secure $ BaseVols commitments from Larry Pratt, Haslam, Peyton, and Morgan Wallen.
2) Randy Boyd meets with CTV ASAP and reiterates the financial commitment to Baseball NIL
3) Randy Boyd has CTV report directly to him with dotted line to Danny White (in name only).
4) Engage Carmen Tegano to meet with CTV to inquire “what else TN can do to ensure you’re coaching here until you retire”. Same for Todd Helton and Condredge Holloway and Phil Garner.

I missed the part where Dave Hart, John Currie, Phillip Fulmer, and Mike Hamilton had Tennessee finishing in the Director’s Cup top 5-10 multiple years in a row. Or any year at all.
No doubt AD Danny White has done a great job elevating TN Athletics and raising money. However, you have to maintain a positive relationship with your NC winning generational coach.

With White it's about money and his legacy. Baseball isn't a big money maker and White didn't hire Vitello. I honestly don't think he cares if vitello leaves. He likely looks at it as a cost cutting move.

Randy Boyd is no dummy. He will do what it takes if humanly possible. The man loves the Vols. He is one that saved Rick Barnes from walking out the door.

How do we know that it isn't positive ? A talk show host ? TV has done a hell of a job here, but maybe his dream is to give MLB a shot..... No College Coach has ever had this opportunity. There is no question if TV is gone it will hurt the program, however he is still here currently.

Kind of like the $105 million LNS renovations that TV asked for and received ?
LNS was arguably only better than Mizzou in the entire SEC. It was an eyesore and an embarrassment, and was LONG overdue for an overhaul. It was a no brainer and was a long line of budgeted “facility improvements” on the campus. It has not been prioritized properly as it will be almost 2 years past the original date.

Boyd is a tremendous asset to TN and is a huge baseball guy. Heck, he doesn’t take a salary and pays for his work related travel expenses. He will likely personally donate money earmarked for BaseVols NIL. We are beyond lucky to have him leading UT.

Who said there wasn’t? Nobody on this board knows, just speculation. All rumors, including. NIL.

White is great AD and done wonders for our program.

Maybe there is an issue but i want to hear it from Tony or someone close to him instead of a poster on volnation or sports talk show.

Maybe White should have given him what he needed to win championships instead? This idea of doing more with less is a tad dated.
I'm not picking on you friend, but you don't have good perspective on this. He WON a championship. He IS being given everything he needs to win them. My entire point was that that's not going to be a factor in why he leaves if he does. He's stacking really good recruiting classes/portal hauls. I think the expectation, if he didn't leave, is more championships.
