Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

There are mismatches for both Tennessee and Alabama.

For Tennessee, it has the edge in the trenches with a good pass rush against a suspect OL. Tennessee is also very good on the OL in pass protection and run blocking and Alabama is ranked in the bottom tier nationally in getting to the QB and sacks and tackles for loss.

For Alabama, it is one of the best nationally in explosive plays in the passing game. Grubb uses the pass to open up the running game. Tennessee’s secondary has been banged up and Grubb will look to exploit it.

Whichever team exploits the mismatches better will win the game.

I do like the fact that Tennessee may have the edge up front. That was always Alabama’s edge against Tennessee during the Saban era. Heupel and his staff have done a really good job at recruiting and developing guys on the OL and the DL. If we control the line of scrimmage and take care of the ball, we’ll have a good shot. That’s where the majority of games are won, regardless of the skill positions.

Always had a lot of respect for him and considered him a VFL even when he left to go to Wash. State. He always worked hard, gave everything he had, took a lot of beatings in-game and from the fanbase, yet stayed level-headed. Excited to see his career growing and hope nothing but the best for him.

I'm unironically a huge JG fan. I never hated him while he was here (okay, maybe during the 2020 Kentucky game). He had more "signature" wins than Bray ever did.
Same. Frustrated at times, but never got close to hating him. Dude literally gave his all for Tennessee.

Right now I only have Purdue +3.5. A little timid this week. A couple weeks ago I got wreckt and last week was at the beach with no betting access.

Bear Fallica and his crew are on Vols +8.5 though 😈😈

I’ll be listening to Powers and Knish this afternoon and see if they can sway me. I do like UGA ML if I can get a good number live or in a 2 leg parlay

Things that intrigue me:
Duke ML
Utah state -4 or ML
Louisville if I can get +14
SMU looks tempting
JMU as a home dog is nice

What you thinking?
I may hop on that Utah State and UL with you - I’m also trying to wait out the 14 there. I also like Duke - I was wanting GT at 3 there but my book didn’t get it up until it had hit 1.5. Just gonna see if I can get Duke +money tomorrow at this point. Everything I’ve bet so far:
  • Minnesota +10 -120
  • Boise -12 -105
  • CMU +4 -115
  • South Carolina +6 -115
  • UGA u54.5 -105
  • ULM +6 -105
  • Purdue +4 -105
  • Arizona St +9 -115
  • ODU +2.5 -115
  • Utah -2.5 -120
  • ND -9.5 -105
  • Maryland +3.5 -105
  • Stanford +18 -105
Also hoping a 3 pops on LSU.

Literally everything the national media has said about their offense they could say about ours except that we have a better running game than them.

The big “difference” is supposedly their defense. I remember that talk in 2022 as well. Let’s see who they have played to challenge that passing game.

Florida State terrible pass game

LA Monroe terrible pass team

Wisconsin terrible pass team

Georgia I believe a decent passing team

Vandy decent to average passing team

Missouri below average passing team.

This will be by far and away the best passing offense they have seen or will see all year and we can run like the teams they have played. Their 2022 team was billed as so great on defense because they were giving up like 9 points a game or whatever and we scored 21 in the first quarter.

We might see the same Saturday

Florida's new stadium project is going to reduce the capacity of The Swamp by around 4,000 when it's finished. Fans aren't happy about it.

"Project documents obtained by Swamp247 do not show an expected diminished capacity during the 2027 and 2028 seasons, though the seating quantity target is listed in 2029 as 80,895, a decrease of 6,349 seats. In 2030, upon the project's expected completion, the seating target rises to 83,096, according to the documents. Factoring in standing room only additions, The Swamp is projected to hold 84,399 in 2030."
