Agreed. The problem for us will be Horton and Brooks who have both become very good players. Horton is always targeted in the red zone. Bernard has the best hands. I would shift Hood from Bernard to Horton in red zone. Honestly, we better get pressure, or we have no chance of stopping them in the pass game. If we had our starting db's, we would be a match-up nightmare for them. But we don't. Which means we will need to keep Simpson in the pocket, have DT's bat balls at line, and tackle well. If we do not do those things, we will give up 35+ points and need a huge game from our RB's.I think we should have Hood mark Germie Bernard the whole game. He's their most dangerous pass threat and Williams isn't 100% right now
Blitz like crazy and our DL get their hands up if they don't get home
Stay out of zone defense except maybe on first down to play the run. Simpson is good at finding holes in the zone
Also, I didnt say this as just being a homer trying to will it into existence.Tennessee is gonna beat bama in an evenly called game.
In the end, one has mostly black students and one has mostly white students. Their origin doesn't really matter at this point. People make the choice where to attend now. If we're gonna punish for things that happened in the past, then we should start with what happened at Penn State and shut the place downSure.
HBCUs were created because black citizens who wanted an education were very frequently barred from universities and colleges because of laws mandating strict segregation, particularly in the South. Segregated schools of the type in the post you originally quoted were created for the purpose of keeping black citizens out. HBCUs were created for the purpose of allowing black citizens to receive an education, not to keep white citizens out.
So yeah, that's the big one.
If it were Bishop, I'd want him back. . . but I'd be pissed the coaches allow him to play just 7 days after a concussion, given what we now know about CTE and brain trauma.Oof. Bringing back your star RB a week after a concussion? That’s just effing stupid lol. They must think they really need their run game but 7 days is not long enough especially a position where he is likely to see the majority of contact.
@ATC_VOL sighting!Holiday Inn Express at the Kodak exit used to a couple of years ago. I have no idea if they still do.
Calling it now, Tennessee puts a legal hard hit on him, he has to leave the game and doesn’t return. Headlines “Tennessee knocks star Bama RB out of game with questionable hit”Oof. Bringing back your star RB a week after a concussion? That’s just effing stupid lol. They must think they really need their run game but 7 days is not long enough especially a position where he is likely to see the majority of contact.
He did that vs Syracuse too and let them start creeping back in. We should be 100% all gas and no brakes.Let’s be honest…the only woes we have really had on offense is when we went conservative to run clock. Other than penalties that get us behind the chains or a turnover, has anyone really slowed us down any? That’s why I keep saying I wish Heupel would just run the offense the entire game and quit going conservative.
Right now I only have Purdue +3.5. A little timid this week. A couple weeks ago I got wreckt and last week was at the beach with no betting access. What you got out for this weekend? I was out of the country the last 2 weeks and got destroyed by the book. Gotta lock back in this week lol
I was one of the kids sent to predominantly black schools. Early '70s. The kids next door went to Prep. They had money, we didn't.I don't remember what I was looking for but last night I discoverd that Scott Stricklin, Florida's AD, went to Jackson Preparatory School as a youth which is famous as a segregation academy.
I had never even heard of a segregation academy before.
"At the time of its founding, a local member of the White Citizen's Council remarked that schools like Jackson Prep were established because the "educational results of such forced interracial congregation are disastrous for children of both the white and black races"."
"As of 1986, Jackson Prep had never enrolled a black student."
Black students can technically enroll there now, but Black parents say they don't want to send their Black kids to a segregation school.
"As of 2014, Jackson Prep's student body remained over 97 percent white."
That's a major yikes!
