Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

There is a man at work who sneezes all the time. It's worse than seasonal allergies. It's like a tic or something and it gets annoying as crap when you're working with him.

But wait, there's more. . .

There is a man at work that, no matter where he's at in the building if he hears the man sneeze he yells "Bless You", but he says it like he's talking to a baby or a dog or something. It never fails, he always does it, even if you can barely hear the sneeze.

I always have to make sure they're working at different sites or i hear crap about it from everyone else for the rest of the week.

This morning the sneezing man went into a fit and the Bless You guy went off into a Bless You flurry. I was trying to talk to another contractor and all we could hear was "Sneeze", Bless You", over and over for about 2 minutes straight. Then we hear a door slam and one guy start screaming. One of the other guys got tired of hearing it and slammed the door on the box trailer side door. The bless you man had his foot in the door. He's been crying about going to the emergency room and how I'm lucky he likes me, cause he'd sue me for an unsafe workplace.

One of the sites got shut down for a couple days, that's what I was talking to the other guy about. There is probably gonna be a fight at some point today because I had to send everyone to the same job so they wouldn't miss any work hours.

I had the Bless You man wait a few minutes behind after everyone left to make sure he wasn't really hurt. They're all gonna flip out when they see him pull up to the job here in about 5 mins. 😂

Holy **** I like whatever you took this morning. Fired up!
Tired of all the negative crap on here about this team and this game. I need to be more positive myself. So let’s start today, and start Saturday night. Defy all odds and beat the turds all their bandwagon fans! Make DeBoer want to leave for one of these other less stressful jobs.

Hell yeah brother!!!

I remember you being a little positive at that Auburn game when we had Pruitt and we ironically were like 2 rows in front of you. Vibes are up!!

I know a guy who got caught in one of these stings. I never would have suspected him to do something like that. You know that when someone in their 40s/50s is caught like this it isn’t their first time patronizing but just their first time getting caught.
Years ago, the JCPD (before they were complicit in abetting serial rapists) busted a man cave - gay men's deal at Winged Deer. Knew someone who's father was busted. I cannot imagine. I dont want to go any farther here because **** got real for them, awful.

People got to think about the fallout. Not to mention the disgusting perversions that they have abnormally rationalized.

Meh. He did his job. He had to take on the blocker, keep the back off the edge and make a play if he could. He did what is expected in that situation. Would've been nice if he blew up the block and wrecked the runner at the same time though.
Yeah I think the more important question is why would he take hisself out of the play. He runs around the block dipping to outside shoulder. As soon as you do that there’s no chance of you making a play.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Midseason Performance Poll! I wasn’t quite expecting the level of engagement it received (It really blew up overnight) but thank you all! If you haven’t already, here’s the link:

There’s been really interesting results already. Here’s some interesting tidbits:

1. The Tim Banks vitriol was expected, but maybe not to this extent lol. One guy wrote in an answer that was at least 3 paragraphs long explaining exactly why Banks should be fired and why he’s the worst coordinator in Tennessee History.

2. A few people wrote in an explanation for the offense woes and blamed it on Joey. I didn’t expect that one at all. I didn’t even include that as an option for the “holding back the offense” question because I didn’t expect anyone to think that, but that’s on me.

3. Some of you blamed the defensive woes on lack of pass rush. I’m not sure what to say to that. Apparently leading the nation in sacks just isn‘t good enough for some people.

Yup.

man, we seem lately to always be one or two guys short with injuries ... several years ago it was O linemen and WR's, last year it was Pili, WR's, and one or two others (Cooper if I remember correctly) and this season it's McCoy and Gibson, along with earlier Moi and Hobbs...

if we were at full strength so far this season, we'd be undefeated and in the top 6 most likely at this point... sheesh... Instead we are looking at adding another 2 losses minimum... starting with this weekend, teams are going to know exactly how to scheme against our Defense for success... only way we win is if we can score last... AL, OK, FL, and even Candy are licking their chops... until we silence the 'ish talk, they will be right...

5 teams with a 10-2 record doesn't get in from SEC.. 4 max , Sankey doesn't run the CFP by himself... There's a reason Big Ten and SEC are pushing for 14 or 16 teams...
These are the current possible minus USC. Teams that I think have a realistic chance in orange, but I think winner of UGA/Ole Miss will knock the other out and we wind up with (4)10-2 teams

Ole Miss plays UGA, USC, OK, Florida, and Egg Bowl-probably drop 1-2 games and fall to 10-2 or 9-3
A&M plays Arky, Texas, Mizz, USC, and LSU- might run the table but probably in the playoff unless they fall apart
Bama plays UT, USC, LSU, OK, and iron bowl- probably in the playoffs but could still fall to 9-3
Georgia plays Ole Miss, Texas, Miss St, Florida, and Ga Tech-same boat as Ole Miss

LSU plays Vandy, A&M, Arky, Bama, and OK- think they have at least 2 losses finish 9-3
UT plays Bama, OK, FL, and Vandy- think we finish 10-2 and get playoff if we play to our level
Texas plays Vandy, Miss St, Arky, UGA and A&M- think they drop 1-2 of these games and finish 9-3 or 8-4
Mizz plays Auburn away, Vandy, A&M, Miss St, Arky, and OK - Likely drop 2 and finish 9-3
OK plays USC East, UT, Ole Miss, Bama, Mizz and LSU- think they at least drop 2 more
Vandy plays LSU, Texas, Auburn, Mizz, and UT - probably drop at least 2
Miss St only needs to drop one more game and they are out
Fl and Ark both have a non conference loss as well so are already out

Yeah I think the more important question is why would he take hisself out of the play. He runs around the block dipping to outside shoulder. As soon as you do that there’s no chance of you making a play.
His goal was to force the runner back inside, one of the key fundamentals in defense.

Good/great players accomplish that with intense effort and intelligence to keep him inside while also trying to make a play on him.

Average/bad players can only process that one imperative, DO NOT LET HIM GET THE EDGE, and they aren't physically or mentally capable of doing that while also making a play on the runner.

I'm guessing he's been chewed out many times in life for trying to make a play instead of setting the edge, and he's not good enough to do both reliably, so his default is just do his primary goal of keeping the runner inside unless it's obvious or easy how to do that and still make a tackle.

That's generally what you see in high school and college anyway when someone looks like they're being lazy, setting the edge is drilled into kids at the very beginning of football.

Ok, watched Missouri.

- 5 total passes by Simpson traveled over 10 yards. 3 to the left and 2 to the right. The other gains of 10 or more were dump throws to RB or TE in flat.
- He lives in play action. Don't bite on it. Just get him.
- When in shotgun, he scrambles if initial read isn't there.
- Bama likes to run right
- Simpson makes best plays on roll outs following play action.
- He holds the ball too long at least 5 times a game and throws two picks waiting to be intercepted. Will we make the play? Missouri did not. One hit DL and bounced in the air to be caught by OL for 2 yard gain. Early in game he threw behind WR Brooks. DB never looked or would've picked it off. It went for 18-yard catch and one of the 5 passes over 10 years in air.
- He will exploit middle a lot. He wants LB's to vacate and the run motion to cause this. If a LB vacates, we need to bring the safety from Williams side of the field. Why Williams? Because he doesn't go over the middle. He is scared of being hit.
- Simpson is terrified of being hit. Hit him.

If that OL (Proctor) lines up in the backfield, we better bring McMurray or Boo from the outside and hit him low and very hard. He won't do it again nor will his parents allow him to risk his career. Bama only has 2 tough players on offense (Miller and Cuevas), the rest do not bring a physicality to the game. If Miller cannot go, that is an enormous blow to them.
I think we should have Hood mark Germie Bernard the whole game. He's their most dangerous pass threat and Williams isn't 100% right now
Blitz like crazy and our DL get their hands up if they don't get home
Stay out of zone defense except maybe on first down to play the run. Simpson is good at finding holes in the zone

Death by 1,000 papercuts or 5. We are not good in man 2 man either. Bigger explosive plays happen in man.
With how bad our secondary is. I’d rather play zone than m2m
The D staff is clearly confident in the talent of our edge rushers to eventually get home/force a turnover if we make teams have to go 10+ plays down the field to score.
