lol. I’ll correct myself. They scored 56 and 52 on no one. Memphis is a “playoff team”. Give me a break. They might get a bid out of that weak conference and proceed to get beat by 50. We both know Memphis isn’t a “playoff” team. The people on this site trying to give ARK clout is hilarious. They might win 5 games. Might.

What I really don't understand and is a really bad look for Banks is, I've seen some mock drafts that have 3 defensive players taken in the first round (McCoy, Hood, Josephs). Granted McCoy has not played. But still, given how good we are at TFLs and sacks, and the fact we have a first round pick (about to have 2) at corner, an elite LB in Carter, and still give up so many yards.....it has to be scheme. There is no other answer.

None of the first 5 teams listed have the talent on defense we have, according to recruiting and portal rankings.
Wonder what the difference is…
a hint: missing 3 defensive players isn’t the reason.

We both dont know anything. You're assuming but really have no idea what Memphis will or wont do. U can call it a weak conference but that conference put belt to ass vs our conference this year.

IIRC the current top 4 teams have played the SEC dating back to last bowl season. Navy beat OU. This year Memphis beat Arkansas, USF beat the Gators. Tulane is the only one to get hammered by OM. So their top 4 teams are 3-1 vs the SEC in their last meetings.

Please save these Memphis and Arkansas receipts. I’d like to, but the truth is I won’t have time for it. If Memphis makes it, they get demolished by the first real opponent they get. Arkansas isn’t a good opponent, not for them, not for us. Next receipt- Arkansas does great if they win 5 this year. I think maybe 4. Their schedule is brutal from here on out.

it's playing out of position, not getting off blocks, overpursuit, bad angles, and not setting the edge. Every person I trust has said same thing. When they play contain, they do well. Its just mental errors and busts.

As crazy as it sounds, it's saying your front 4, 6 or 7 is actually killing it. The back end though, is giving up wayyyy too much. It's weird to think your front few is actually that effective, only to be totally negated by the back end. Probably when they're playing Zone....which for some reason they're just incapable of doing. SO--WHY--DO--IT as much as we do???

What does any of that have to do with those 2 teams having very good offenses?? The argument has never been if Arkansas was a good team. The argument was that they have a very good offense. So does Memphis. U can argue those facts with yourself. Idk how far Memphis will go and dont care how many games Arkansas wins.

Wgat we’re arguing is they only have a good offense because if the 1st games they’ve played and you’re referencing said stats. In 6 more weeks, after they’ve played legit competition, no one will be talking about Arkansas “high powered O”

Significant lack of experience and real dudes at tackle. I love Eason. Great guy and when he’s playing 30 snaps, he’s a huge help. 60-80? He’s a liability. Moi is just OK, as is Hobbs. Honbss is likely because he’s been continually hurt and just doesn’t have the reps. We are relying on true freshman who are going to be very good, but need the time in the weight room. They needed help in the portal at all three levels of the defense. They added Hood, who was a great find, but they lost Jakobe, so that’s a wash.

Safety is just terrible. Losing Jakobe was inexcusable. This was suppose to be the year with Nico hitting his stride and it’s really head scratching they weren’t more active in the portal.

I still ask we stop just jumping on safeties automatically. They don’t choose to be 25 yards off the ball on 3rd and 7. They are put there and to “keep it in front of them.” That’s not their fault. Or they are put in man iso on the opponents fastest/shiftiest player with no help in, out or deep as we send a telegram showing it with 15 seconds on the play clock.
I coach Special Olympics teams now who can see it and know where to go if we get that matchup.
Btw going for btbtbtb state titles in murf tomorrow. Banks should watch how my guys attack when they see a player coming into their zone. We stared and didn’t move from our spots for 2 games, but with special needs adults we fixed it. In 2 games and 2 practices.
Safeties are playing how they are coached, and it’s poor, on your heels, keep it in front and go make a tackle bs that’s not working or we wouldn’t think we need to score 45 to win Saturday. A place we haven’t won in over 2 decades, we have to go in at night and score over 40 to win. Riiight.

Half season is a pretty large body of work my man. They do have 3 top 5 SEC scoring defenses left to play but they also have 2 of the bottom 4 SEC scoring defenses left to play. So in order to not be a good offense they would need to get shut out vs all 3 of those top 5 scoring defenses. Thats highly unlikely so yeah at the end of the year we'll still be saying Arkansas has a good offense.

Btw, Arkansas wasnt a very good team last year, and that offense still finished 2nd in the SEC.

They play mostly zone against mobile QBs. You almost have to, or the scrambles will kill you.

Our only chance to beat Bama will be to be plus 2-3 in the turnover category . . . And score 48 plus points.

Bama will abuse this defense like a hot knife through butter.

imo play to win with offense, keep playing wide open offense and we should score 48 to 50 points if we go up tempo the whole game. I think it will take 48 points to win with ouir defense. If we get up on Bama and Hype slows the offense down we will lose.
