Does your Dodge have Cummins or gas? I love that body style Ford, but the Diesel swap into it would make me a little leary of potential gremlins that could be hiding from that. The 7.3 Powerstrokes were great, but might be tough to know if things were matched up properly with the engine swap into the truck there.
5.9 360 magnum in the middle of having a thumpr wife beating cam put in it. I think I'll probably pass because of the diesel. I really like the truck other than that though.

All in all pretty well. We’re helping our oldest daughter in a custody battle with her ex but I’m healthier than I’ve been since high school. Lost 35 pounds and celebrated by getting into cigars. 😉 I check in from time to time, but age has a way of calming your need to get that last point in. Never giving up on all things Orange.

What a a$$hole……….Tell her she’s got a date to the game!…Christmas gatherings would be epic with blunt one liners spewing out from 2 different directions 👀😭🤣🤣🤣

I have a theory that to be elite you don't have to do everything amazing, but you have to be elite in some critical areas. Those areas can differ team to team.

We are not great on total defense or passing defense, but we are elite in sacks and forced turnovers.

We are not elite in our running or offensive turnovers, but we are elite in passing, total offense and scoring.

We aren't elite at holding onto a lead, but we've been elite at overcoming mistakes and being in every game. We should be undefeated if Gilbert had his grapes that night.

I say that to say we genuinely do have the weapons to beat anyone anywhere. We also have weaknesses that could lead to our defeat, but they are fairly strategically oriented for us to overcome with our strengths.

To me each team has an identity that resonates with a maxim. I think for this team that maxim is:

Play for and make the breaks. When one comes your way—SCORE

This team is one of the best UT teams i have seen in this single area. We just HAVE to do it complimentary. If we do that we win.

Not just Bama, but the whole damn thing.
There’s books to write about this topic. I think you’re right.

Because teams can’t be elite at everything on defense, they have to play within what they have. I think they should aim to (1) make it hard to score and (2) play complimentary football.

The first point seems so obvious only a Dawg can think it profound, but it’s deceptively complex. Some defensive stats (sacks are a prime example) do not correlate with preventing points. Statistically, total yards don’t matter much, especially compared to yards per play. Preventing explosive plays is the best way not to get scored on. Forcing third downs is another.

Playing complimentary football just means that your defense works with your offensive identity. Tennessee is going to score 30+, so it doesn’t have to focus on shutouts. Stealing a possession with a turnover—even if means taking a risk—has more value to a team built to score fast.

Tennessee is good at playing disruptive and opportunistic defense, but I think it has struggled with imposing control with its defense, and that lets teams hang around and get back into the game after Tennessee gets a lead. Banks is all gas—pressure and man coverage. Something is gonna get blown up, and sometimes it’s his defense. Yards per play in UT’s FBS games this year is 10th in conference (though Bama is 12th). It may be that the guys in the secondary just don’t have it yet given injuries, but man would some solid zone packages be beneficial.

Fumble recoveries are historically 50/50, so it’s also a tad concerning if a team has been benefiting from a lot of recoveries. The ball doesn’t remember, but recovering a lot of fumbles can mean that a team is benefitting from some fortuitous bounces.

My guy!….you can’t beat a square body!…clean it up and tell me what you’d give for it in great condition after it’s fixed and that’s your answer..
Probably not much with that powerstroke in it. I'd definitely be swapping that engine out and I know it would be at least $5k to do it how I'd want it. Too much of a pita, I think. . . plus I've already got 40 other piles of junk waiting for me to do something with them, 😂

I totally agree and actually think we matchup very well with this bama team, even though no one is talking like we do.

That said, I think this week is a little more important than a lot of people realize. This could be our last chance this season to beat a ranked team. A loss puts us squarely behind 2 SEC teams, minimum, in the line to make the playoffs. We would have to be perfect and not slip up against 2 teams that will be giving us their 200% best effort in the final 2 weeks of the season. There would be no room for error to even be in the discussion to make the playoffs.

Not saying the season is over with a loss this week, but it makes it where we must be perfect in the final 5 weeks. I believe we have that in us, but I’d prefer to win this week and have some wiggle room. It’s very unfortunate that we didn’t make that kick against UGA - we’d be top 5 and be waltzing into the playoffs regardless of outcome this week.
I still think more carnage is to come like last year and more teams will end with more than two losses. I think 10-2 gets you in the playoff in you’re in the SEC. People forget ole miss last late to florida and A&M had one loss for much of the season and people said they were playoff bound. More losses are coming for teams (lsu, ole miss especially) and we just have to handle our business.

Glad you're doing well butchna and happy to see you've been back on the board a bit more lately.

I agree that more carnage is to come, I am just very fearful we will fall victim to that carnage with our remaining schedule. Either way, we need a marquee win to leave no doubt and we have one, maybe two (OU), chances left to do that. Beating Vandy in a play-in game week 12 would be great, but they’ll never be respected as a legit threat by the voters like a bama or OU.

It's honestly some of both...Banks wants to play bend but don't break break due to the weakness in our DB, which is a very rational use of what we have with McCoy and Gibson out, but some of the players are taking horrible angles, getting way out of position and missing a lot of tackles when they do get where they are supposed to be.

I have seen this broken down by several YT guys that I really respect...they pretty much say what I just said. They say Banks didn't get stupid overnight and he is doing the best he can with what he has to work with.

Nobody wants to hear it but I actually think Vandy is the hardest game left on the schedule outside of Bama. Their offense isn't the best matchup for us especially with how they want to control the TOP. I like that we have that one at home though.

I agree. That one and @ Florida worry me more than OU and @ UK by a country mile.

I think this is a great point and should be considered more. Man coverage is A LOT harder to do consistently against a running threat. We are a man coverage team and the DB's do much better in man, historically. With Simpson being much more of a pocket passer, and one of the least mobile QB's we will face all year... it might just unlock something for the defense.

Candy will definitely be a nail biter. we suck when our emotions get involved and that game is circled for both sides

I find it funny that we ran almost all sone against arky, and almost all man vs georgia. Maybe mix it up a bit.

I just wonder what he pulled the 7.3 out of and why he did it in the first place. Those things aren't extremely easy to plug into an old truck set up for gas.

Just accept the fact the man wanted a bulletproof house hauler and take the damn thing you’re killing us “classic” vehicle lovers in here..just trust that you’ll thank us later 🫡🫶🏽🤣🤣
