Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

This is what I was talking about yesterday as far as Florida's most influental boosters having a public online presence. I just can't imagine any of our biggest boosters tweeting something like this.
He's just feeding red meat to the fanbase. This man knows Lane Kiffin isn't coming to Florida.

I checked their 247 board. They loathe this too. This guy has done this before multiple times and few of them trust he's being honest.

I get it. Most of the ones I heard speak on the subject defended the university and Paterno. I will say one thing, if the university of Tennessee had a scandal like that I would be done with them, I don’t care how much I’ve loved them all my life. I would be embarrassed and ashamed. I don’t play when it comes to hurting children in any way
I don’t either, what happened to thise kids was disgusting and everybody that had anything to do with it deserve whatever hell they go through because of it..but guilt by association is way too much for me.

Every PSU fan I ever talked to back when that was first going on were basically just in a state of shock and disbelief that it had really happened...which is totally understandable, nobody wants to believe a loved one is capable of that and will defend what they know. I think all of them today now that the facts are known wouldn't defend anything other than themselves and others that had nothing to do with it.

I've seen the devastating effects of guilt by association with my own eyes...it is ugly and disgusting as well. The innocent should never be driven into insanity or suicide by the overzealous pitchfork and torch mob.

I thought that was set by TV and the coveted time slots was in the afternoon.
WHen CBS had SEC rights the coveted time slot was in afternoon... Sankey doesn't control everything as some believe...

Plus if it was rigged why the hell does Georgia have the second lowest pct. They should've been near the Bama level due to how dominant they've been the last 5 years.

Also the #1 team on the list by far is LSU and I only ever hear the league is slanted for Bama and/or UGA. We adding in LSU to the theory now?

2nd and 3rd are USCe and UK (glanced this time, apologies if I’m getting that wrong). Where do they fit into the corruption of who is rewarded night games?

Happy Wednesday

October 15, 2025: When you feel neglected, remember that you belong to Me, says the Lord. I care about you and will come to your aid in the power of My Spirit, which is far more valuable than human care. Set your sights higher than wanting to find someone to love you. Turn your attention to expressing your love for others instead of focusing on yourself. It will be far more rewarding. Jeremiah 31:3 The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.

It makes hardly no sense. I don’t get how it’s even possible, injuries or not.
The SEC is a LOT better than last year for one. It was an anomoly how bad the SEC was last year. We'd have never made the playoffs in almost any other year with last year's team.

Also, Pearce ONL Mccoy make a big difference.

Bryant on Neyland.....

My trouble coaching against Tennessee - specifically, against General Neyland - was that every time we played I went out there like a wild man and changed everything around. One year we painted all the dummies orange, then took the team out to a horse farm, and brought the clergy in, and had everybody so tight they could barely move. Next day we lost 6-0. We had a lot of gimmicks and I threw out all the things we could do, the good plays, and put in something new, For Neyland.

Robert Reese Neyland was his full name. He had been schooled at West Point, and had won the Distinguished Service Medal as an aid to General MacArthur. As a football coach he was a model of consistency. He always did the same thing, and he always won. He was more of Coach Thomas's era than mine, but he was a giant and the respect (or dread) Coach Thomas had for him carried over to me. Neyland stuck with the single wing all his football life. People called his offense "the covered wagon," but like Hank Crisp used to say, "Try and stop it."

They used to kid me around the office that anytime Tennessee was mentioned during a coffee break I had to excuse myself and be sick. They weren't far wrong. I lost my breakfast regularly before the Tennessee game. Everybody thought Neyland had a jinx on us. It was no jinx. He was a better coach, and he had better football players - and I couldn't stand it. We managed a couple of ties against him, but I never beat him. He retired after the 1952 season."

[BEAR,The Hard Life and Good Times of Alabama's Coach Bryant, page 105]

All of Coach Bryant's losses to General Neyland were while he was at Kentucky from 1946 - 1953. He went to Texas A&M in 1954. He arrived at the Capstone, his alma mater, in 1958.

Big O doesn't get enough credit. Our DL was a demolition squad. They panicked the QB, forced early throws, and made things a lot easier on our back-end.

He needs to do better. That’s his job.

This 2025 defense is riddled with GREAT individual performances. As a unit, it’s disconnected. Communication? Lbs and safeties are the ones who fit it all. I assume our defense is no different. I’m not football smart enough to know if McCoy’s absence is causing us to run more zone than last year. My suspicion is yes. I HATE coaching turnovers so I don’t think he warrants getting let go, but we need some drastic improvement next year*

We need to run more Cover 1 Robber/Rat, man-match quarters or split-field match (all db man/safety zone concepts). Idk why we go full blown zone so often, especially on 3rd/4th down, especially, especially with a Rodney Garner DL.
