Officiating Auburn/disgrace of the south

Yeah, that’s right, all the external media consultants, legal counsel, in-house media advisors, and university administrators know nothing about media rights deals. Again, this isn’t difficult. Why do you think Maryland and Rutgers were added to the B10? Neither of those athletic departments bring anything to the table as far as national reach goes. What they did bring was the NYC, Baltimore, and D.C., markets. No different than when the SEC added Mizzou. That was done specifically because of St. Louis and Kansas City.
If you know anything you’re talking about, show me the data.. Show me how distance and nearby population equates to this:

I don’t understand how you are so confused about where money comes from. Broadcasting companies make revenue off ad sales and subscriptions.. Ad sales are the primary source tied to tv ratings. It has nothing to do with land mass or nearby urban development. The SEC has led in tv ratings for decades now.

No, Georgia Tech doesn’t sell more ads than Georgia. Being in Atlanta has not mattered since the invention of the television.

Penn State has always recruited from NY.. You’re just naming whatever comes to mind to sound knowledgeable.

Were you Greg Sankey’s consultant? 🤣

Media rights deals aren’t based solely on game ratings. They’re driven by market size and footprint because TV networks make their money through carriage fees and market penetration, not just how many people watch games. What does Penn St recruiting NY have to do with the B10’s media rights? What do attendance numbers have to do with media rights deals? Again, tell me why the B10 added such athletic powerhouses as Rutgers and Maryland?

SEC Network is complicit in fluffing for Georgia. On SEC Final, they didn’t even show the timeout controversy. Not a mention of Kirby flat out lying to the refs to get an advantage. Spent a lot of time on the goal line “fumble”. Say what you want. Someone posted the picture of the ball crossing the line and Arnold was in control of the ball at that moment. Auburn got screwed- again.

If you can’t connect any data to the revenue. I don’t need to argue any further.

The footprint and number of potential households is much greater for the B10.
But do those households watch CFB “religiously”? I’ve seen some very dated data but at the time the biggest markets, top 5-7, as far as viewership were all in the South, save for Columbus. I sort of get paying for the max potential for viewership but if it doesn’t materialize it’s worthless. If I’m an advertiser looking for a slot(s) on Saturday’s I’m looking for SEC games and/or targeting southern viewers even if it’s a national broadcast game, assuming you can run commercials by geography. I bet I saw more ads for a random pharmaceutical yesterday than someone in Chicago cause I was on a CFB game (predominantly SEC ones) from 11am central until 11pm central; not sure I should brag about how much of a sloth I am on Fall Saturday’s lol but I will be tuning in more times than not and more times than a lot of other geography’s.

Was this before the first or second punch to the ball? I am guessing it is between the two. And from watching the video it looks like the ball was slightly moving after the first punch then completely jarred away from the second.
This. The line here is fine as frog hair, but it was called a fumble on the field and the first punch comes in right on the ball and immediately causes the ball to start moving. How do you overturn that call?

To be honest, tho, I thought Arnold was in on the previous play, and, on the fumble play, how do you rule the play a fumble on the field and simultaneously not rule it a UGA TD?

If not for extreme luck, ga is 3 and 3 right now; and not even ranked.
They would be grouped with Clemson, FL St., and Penn St. as one of the year's biggest disappointments.

your point? UGA people are disappointed. We know process matters more than results.
Your coach is a complete piece of feces, how anyone can follow a team led by that piece of trash amazes me. I think he believes his own lies.
How Georgia can go from having a decent morale guy like Richt to this piece of excrement amazes me.

Any rate can’t blame you for coming to our boards I’m sure the smell of dog crap and all the stupid barking gets annoying.

Right. There's a lot of nonsense built into enormous business decisions sometimes. I personally never assume business leaders are actually capable.

There was this delusion in NASCAR that all they had to do was destroy a few events and build a speedway in [place] and then they would "access the market" based on geography. It turns out that's stupid. You see what happened to NASCAR when they tried this. It never recovered. It appears like it never will.

I guess the lesson is that when something as worthless as sports is raking in a jillion dollars, you better be careful.

How do you feel about Kiffin now?
How did you feel about Kiffin when he was a coach here?

you always look past the blemishes if they are yours and you are winning or feeling good. just like TN fans did with Kiffin. he was even more immature back then, and was definitely sleeping around, and probably had his own Bobby Petrino motorcycle incident, but got away with it.

My point is simply that ga is extremely overrated.
Where would you place ga in the top 25....if at at all?

I would have them somewhere around 22nd.
I don’t really consider rankings important so I haven’t given it much thought to give an educated response. We’ll know a lot more after Ole Miss and Texas, our next two games.

UGA can beat everyone on its schedule, but our OL and second ILB play are real problems. Stockton hasn’t shown enough yet, either, and struggles a lot against zone.

There’s something for everybody on UGA film. The first and second halves of the Auburn game are mirror images. We are a missed UT FG and overthrown pass away from two more losses, and we are a red zone fumble and dropped TD from being undefeated despite the flaws.

If UGA gets its stuff figured out, it has no ceiling. But UGA plays four more losable games that will challenge it exactly where it is weak.

Sure. And similar things are true about multiple teams. TN is a missed field goal away from being undefeated.

My original statement was; if not for extreme luck (and very questionable/missed calls), ga would be 3 and 3 and unranked.

It's simply a point I feel needs to be stated any and every time someone claims ga is a top team.

Full disclosure: I hate ga. Two kids graduated from GT and the other is a senior there, I'm a huge TN fan, and I live about 30 minutes from Athens..............So the good old fashion hate comes from multiple directions.

Right?

Ugly wins and close losses are complicated things. On the one hand, you are your record. There’s no appeals for losses and nobody to take your wins away. On the other, ugly wins often presage losses, just as a close or explainable loss contains the seeds of a later win. Smart said the film study of UGA’s loss at Bama was much more pleasant than its win against Tennessee.

As for hating UGA, you should! I think Tech is a problem this year, and I’m a huge fan of what Key is building, how Faulkner calls an offense, and how Haynes King plays. Of course I hate their guts and think they got gifted a win against Wake, but thems the breaks.
