Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Same crew as last year when we beat their ass, let’s ride. I actually think McDonough is one of the very best in the business, I like listening to him on the call. McElroy is ass obviously.
I always confuse Sean McDonough with Neal McDonough. . . and Bryant Denny with Brian Dennehy. . .

October 13, 2025: Quiet your soul and listen for God's still small voice to direct every step. You are still in a time of transition, and you want it to be over, but it is not over yet. There is still much to be done before you can progress. Patience is a virtue and you are being tested in that area. Luke 21:19 By your patience possess your souls. I'm a bit surprised we got folks that can't just google "adidas james franklin" and see all the different media outlets running this...

Neither I or Ace just made this up, it's very much the narrative that's out there as to it happening now and not at the end of the season or later. I don't even think Adidas has an issue with Franklin or cares, but as part of the deal to land the brand contract with the school I'm sure they had no issue.

To Adidas they've landed a major university to a 10 year 300m deal...the only contractual difference is that the "cash" amount came with no restrictions. The university is still choosing to fire Franklin and use that cash value to pay the majority of his buyout, but it's coming from the new Adidas deal.
Don’t believe everything you read on the internet

You are kind of all over the place and use irrelevant so flippantly. Your original post said in “year 1.” Cignetti went 11-2 in year one absolutely because of their schedule. It was discussed all of last year- they played like the 5 worst teams in the conference and 7 of the worst 8. Indiana this year goes out and cancels future OOC P4 games and schedules more FCS teams. It is easier to be a “contender” when you do that.

I get that you are trying to say that you can turn around a program quicker now, and there is truth to that. But it’s tougher in the SEC because of schedule AND it is still true that we went 15 years wandering in the desert, and people should be more appreciative of what we are currently doing. All truth.
No im in one place and have been.
Turn arounds can happen in warp speed today in any Conference with the right combination of HC, NIL, and Portal.
You can believe it’s harder in the SEC if you want to , I don’t care.

I also don’t care what Dooley , Butch and Pruitt did, it’s ancient history.
11-2 in YR 2 with Heupel, we were turned around, all I care about is going forward.
Turning around in the opposite direction can happen just as fast today, we’ve seen it happen to several programs already.
Live in the past if you want, I’ll stay concerned with the present and future.

Asking a couple of things:
1) Travel prayers. Leaving for Ireland tomorrow with my wife and a team on a mission trip working with a church plant we have there. Trying to pass a kidney stone before we leave.
2) We are at the point of making our retirement move to East Tennessee. Have a wide area we are looking in including Greeneville, Cherokee Lake area and Douglas Lake area. Was able to talk to some UT folks at the Miss State game who were very helpful, plus I lived in Morristown in the late 70s as a kid. Church and Healthcare very important to us as we are in our early 60s. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Our house in Alabama is about to go under contract. THANKS!!
Greeneville is nice, Jonesborough too.

Said before the season he was a big reason for Deboer success and him leaving last year really hurt. I bet he gets some looks and he is a very good OC. I hope he does leave.
I could see Oregon St or even Stanford going after him. He’s definitely going to get some interest and I wouldn’t be surprised if he left to head back West. A good friend of mine is a big Bama fan and very worried they’re going to lose him.
