Not the way we should look at it. It’s about what does the other team do well and how is the QB against certain defenses. Ty has been carving up zone defense and hasn’t tried many deep balls. Logically, you play more man and bring your safeties up closer to the line of scrimmage to help stop the run and limit intermediate throws.Ok. You are the DC. Provide your M2M matchups.
Hood on ??? (think this would be a wash regardless if it is Berand, Horton or Williams
Redmond on ??? Was abused in man vs dawgs and tide receivers are better
McMurray/ Carter - Advantage tide. McMurray is good on LoS. Carter gets abused in m2m and looks slower than last year.
I think we play too soft of zone and don’t teach zone concepts very well. Zone does force teams to drive the ball with the hope they make a mistake or DL gets pressure.
I saw a film breakdown today that said it best about Banks. He understands schematically why banks is trying to do what he calls (especially on third down), but seems to lack the knowledge or care to understand his team and personnel. This year's team is not good in zone and playing the sticks well. Stop trying to force it and do what they do best and adjust to your personnel.3rd or 4th and Banks is the new 3rd and Chavis... just pick a down... we can't stop it...
crazy stat someone posted on X---

You're 53 and a moron. Defense is plus 1 in the box. Your old ass is getting carted off to the ERwe can't stop the run, every SEC team has figured that out and will expose us after seeing what msst did to us, along with arky...
the amount of screen shots i've seen where we are playing soft zone in ridiculous situations, should have folks seriously questioning Bank's ability...
Sure hope Josh grows a set this weekend and gets back to calling an offense that had folks scared and intimidated... not this soft, play not to lose crap... we will get abused and embarrassed this weekend if we continue to play both sides of the ball like we have the last two weeks. Then add in the corrupt refs who will call everything on their bingo card against us, no review, and AL will NOT have a single holding penalty the entire game... you can bookit.

I'm 53 and in good shape--- I guarantee if this Oline even does a decent job blocking, I'm either getting the first down or a TD... WTF is this Jr High crap?
"David Pollack, a former Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman (1999–2002) and current ESPN analyst/SEC Network host, did not directly address the timeout incident in any public statements, social media posts, or broadcasts I could find as of October 13, 2025. Searches across X (Twitter), web sources, and his known handles (@DavidPollack47 and @davidpollackon X) yielded no results on this specific play." - grokDid Pollack have a take on this? I need to see it.
Getting McCoy back would be massive. I’ve been pretty unplugged for the last 10 days, is that a possibility that’s been discussed? This is how I feel
I don’t come into this game completely hopeless like the 2010s, but Tennessee’s defense needs to play at a level it hasn’t all year for us to win.
I keep thinking week to week the talent is there and perhaps it is a lack of experience, and with more experience we might see improvement over time.
Then the same troubles keep popping up.
So - who knows.
I think Tennessee can win, but I think it is much more likely we give up 40+ points and come out of there with like a 45-27 type loss.
Yeah, brands definitely call the shots and front all the buyout money for coaches. Whatever you say bud. Agree to disagree.
maybe Heup should read this ... because he's not been calling the same offense he was several years ago... heck, he's not even calling the same offense he did against Ga... just trying to get enough points to get a lead and burn the clock... gonna get beat eventually with this mentality... almost bit him in the ass this weekend...I saw a film breakdown today that said it best about Banks. He understands schematically why banks is trying to do what he calls (especially on third down), but seems to lack the knowledge or care to understand his team and personnel. This year's team is not good in zone and playing the sticks well. Stop trying to force it and do what they do best and adjust to your personnel.
This is why I think Heupel is one of the best offensive minds in football. He adjusts his offense to the personnel and plays to their strengths depending on the talent and personnel.
No, you are uninformed
