Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

My assumption is that the tweet is directed more towards the analysts and support staffs who fall more into the middle class. Anyone with a brain knows Franklin and the on field coaches are perfectly fine if that haven’t been complete imbeciles with their money.
I don't have any empathy for them. They chose that career with the potential reward of multi-million $ contracts in their future. The reward is huge, but failure has pretty big consequences. Go get a job at the Pro Desk if you want job security, imo.

Saw Ole Miss mod Neal McCready say that the focus seems to be on Matt Rhule at Penn State and he would take it if offered. That makes no logical sense to me. Why even fire Franklin if that's the hire. I don't think it's an upgrade.
It’s definitely not an upgrade and if I was a Penn St fan I’d be even more pissed now

I just glanced at the Florida board. They are PISSED that Penn State spent 50 million to get rid of Franklin and their UAA won't pay the 10 million it would take up-front to fire Billy Napier. It's a hilarious sight. They are all attacking each other and the moderators.
I’ve seen numerous post of 8-4 for Napier to keep his job. 2-4 with Ms State-UGA and Ky before they play us. It could be another game for us with an interim coach.

Josh Pate in regards to the Penn State situation says that programs haven't fully been able to recalibrate what a bad season is in the NIL/portal era.

Before NIL, you had blue bloods going into the season where the legitimate rock bottom floor was 9 wins. Now, the wheels can fall off for anyone. And so Penn State should have asked themselves if they can find someone who wins more consistently than Franklin over a longer time frame.

Fair IMO. And makes me glad we have Heupel and aren't spinning the block with terrible ADs and awful coaching hires.

Kiffin has perennial loser Ole Miss in the playoff picture every year….Ole Miss. he’s doing more with less and you can easily make the argument that he’s a better coach than Josh.
Bull freaking 💩. Yall need to come on to 2025. NIL and transfer portal changed the game.
Indiana, GA tech , Texas Tech undefeated and looking to the playoffs.
He ain’t doing with less. He’s loaded up from the portal every year.

If he was all y’all think he is he’d have been in the playoffs already.

I agree with the idea here, but you can't lose 3 in a row with Northwestern at home and winless UCLA being two of them.

In the NIL era a new coach can flip the roster and win almost immediately. Heck, Heupel did it here. I thought it was impossible and then I was at the Orange Bowl watching Tennessee win its 11th game for the first time in decades.

Penn State might be a force within a year if they get the right guy. That said, getting the right guy remains a complete crap shoot.

I always thought corruption talk was nonsense but my opinion has changed the last few years. My eyes just say there is something going on in today’s football. I also don’t think it’s a coincidence it’s gotten worse since we started embracing betting. I understand fans always think their team got screwed but I see it in games I could care less about and it always favors the team with a chance to make the playoffs. Money causes people to do some crazy stuff. I think last night was blatant corruption and is statistically impossible to explain away as incompetence. Anyway, I hope I’m wrong but it just seems different and harder to explain away. Thanks for the response.

Some fans still want to believe that the sport is pure. Accepting that there is corruption places too much additional doubt into a sport that they want to believe is fair across the board. It isn’t. There’s too much money involved now. The corruption is obvious. It’s in front of our eyes every week.

After paying Jimmy Frank’s $50+ million buyout , they are going to go pay for Matt Rhule’s buyout at Nebraska? There’ll be no money for NIL or they have some deep pocket boosters throwing money around like crazy.
