Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Haha keep reading. Still not on the cheating bandwagon. Too difficult to pull off.

Just heavier and heavier on the refs are horribly inept side of the argument. Moments are too big for them. They’re like a visiting QB to Neyland that lets the atmosphere eat him up.
Yeah. I just saw your other post from last night.

But.....

You're closer than you used to be. I'm catching up from last night and more and more posters are seeing what myself, and some others, have been saying for years. The bias is real, Sankey is a greedy snake, and gumps are entrenched into all aspects of college football. They're reffing games, they're over the rules committee, they control the reviews, they're producing the games, they're in the broadcast booths, they're on the sports talk shows, they're on ESPN GameDay, they're AP voters, alabama alumni are in everything. The sickest our athletic department ever was, was when it was full of gumps and Jeremy Pruitt was our coach. They hate us. And they feel like it's their birthright to continue to screw us over.

The SEC cheats. We've had 3 SEC games and all 3 head officials have ties to the university of alabama or live/work in Birmingham. It's not a coincidence, it's corrupt and it's ok if you want to admit it. Call a spade, a spade.

**Fahr everyone and get the SEC office out of the state of alabama. INVESTIGATE THE SEC

Why would it be dumb for Kiffin to go to Penn State? Easier conference, more resources, better fan base, etc. It’s a much better job than Ole Miss.
Florida, better conference
Better resources
More money
And you dont have to leave their backyard to recruit at a high level.

I dont PSU has what it takes to actually be a real contender.

How does Matt Rhule keep getting these jobs, man? What is so attractive to Penn State about Rhule's record? He had 2 good seasons at Temple, one good one at Baylor, and is 17-14 overall, a yikes-level 8-13 in conference at Nebraska. If Penn State wanted someone to lose conference games, James Franklin was managing that well.

defense is completely different and mid without Gibson and McCoy... we didn't know what we had and how it allowed us to do more on defense...

Heup has lost his spark and guts... plays not to lose... disappointing-- really like how they came in and pushed the up tempo, going for it on 4th, foot on your throat... not now... he's lost something...3yrs ago if we were up like we were in the second half, he'd still be popping long TD's... instead we try to run it up the middle and run down the clock...

Will be interesting to see who is really hurt and who's dinged up... may have some more starters out for the gumps... I think McCoy plays.

if things don't change on both sides of the ball this week, we drop games to gumps, oky, fl, and maybe candy if we are beat down at the end of the season...

lot of young talent playing now and more talent on the way next season... we have to figure out how to carve out some wins against those I listed as L's to keep recruiting and our moment going.

I like Golesh but how so? Rhule has proven way more in college than Golesh.
Fair, in terms of experience he’s definitely got more years under his belt. But if you’re dropping $56 million to fire the guy who can’t win the big games and is the definition of mediocrity, only to hire a guy who has also failed to win big games and is pretty mediocre, I just think it’s a trade off. But I’m no Nittany Lions fan, so I’m okay with them continuing the mediocrity.

I’d at least make Cig and Kiffin say no. But I think you can get Golesh for cheaper, and he’d be a better get than Rhule.
That likely gets Cig and Kiffin raises and accomplishes little else. That's if they reciprocate the interest. We never hear when a school reaches out and a coach just says no. So they could very well use backchannels to get a no and the public would never know about it. Because why would you want your rejections public during a coaching search?

For entertaining Sundays!

He’s not claiming he’s not getting financial support. He’s saying there is an NIL budget for football. And it’s very possible and perhaps even likely that the staff overall values other position groups more so they allocate more of their resources to those groups.
He didn't claim anything. You two hypothesized that we weren't spending enough on safties to give him what he needed. That would mean either Banks undervalued them or he doesn't have a seat at that table.

If it's the former, then Banks remains at fault. If it's the latter, then that would be a complete departure from everything else we have seen at UT under DW.

Banks deserved praise last year. He deserves criticism this year.

If you think any coach would struggle to "figure out" how to spend booster money, then I assume you just started watching college football yesterday.
What are you talking about?

Your responses are all over the place.

I’m saying we don’t have an NIL issue and I’m glad we are one of the top spending schools. That’s literally my only point and what I have said.

Now im just fed up with this place again. I’ve literally been on the sideline many times and I talk to many coaches at UT. Y’all are abolsurly insane. I’m complementing our program and you take a shot at me
