Joe Brady and Todd Monken are the first NFL coordinators that come to mind that also recently were top assistants in college.

I've seen Penn State play this year, and I've seen James Franklin-coached Penn State teams in the past. This roster is not comparable to many of those rosters.

It's expensive to retain players. It sounds to me he had to keep going back to the boosters begging for more money to keep the players he already had. He lost some good pieces last year too and did not adequately replace them with like talent. They had the 41st ranked portal class. That might be good enough if you consistently recruit in the top 10, but Penn State doesn't.

Also those Locked On podasts are always 100% aligned with whatever the University narrative is so they aren't always the best sources of information on stuff like this...or much of anything actually.

He definitely set himself up because he hyped this team up by continually calling them the best roster he’s ever had there. His main goal was to keep Allar, Allen and Singleton. He did that. He got one of the top WR in the portal in Trebor Pena and added another highly rated WR in Ross. He has Rojas back at LB and they also got a highly rated LB from the portal in Amare Campbell. He still had one of the best DL in the nation in Zane Durant and another great player on the DL in Dani Dennis-Sutton. They have a couple of legit guys in the secondary back as well, including AJ Harris. The roster is incredibly talented and it’s inexcusable for them to be this bad.

I've been reading their board and it seems a segment of the fan base has accepted that that will be what happens and due to sunk cost fallacy are actually trying to sell all the other fans on the idea of Bobby Petrino. Very curious psychology at work here.

Haha keep reading. Still not on the cheating bandwagon. Too difficult to pull off.

Just heavier and heavier on the refs are horribly inept side of the argument. Moments are too big for them. They’re like a visiting QB to Neyland that lets the atmosphere eat him up.
