I am thinking big time Penn State boosters were already done with Franklin prior to this year and that's why they didn't open the wallets to buy a better roster. It seems like they are willing to invest in the program if the right guy is there. But think about the contract Penn State is going to have to give any coach to replace Franklin! They guaranteed him 50 million. I just don't think you incentivize winning enough when you do that. You think Franklin is upset? He gets to screw around and spend more time with his kids. I don't know how the buyout is paid out but he absolutely does not have to work if he doesn't want to.
