KP rankings released
Based on recent reports, Estrella may be starting at the 4Updated now that we know more about the players:
PG: Gillespie | 32 MPG | 16 PPG
SG: Burg | 25 MPG | 10 PPG
SF: Ament | 30 MPG | 15 PPG
F: Phillips | 17 MPG | 5 PPG
C: Okpara | 25 MPG | 7 PPG
----------
G: Abram | 15 MPG | 7 PPG
G: Henderson | 9 MPG | 3 PPG
F: Carey | 17 MPG | 7 PPG
C: Estrella | 17 MPG | 8 PPG
----------
G: Boswell | 5 MPG | 1 PPG
C: Brown | 6 MPG | 1 PPG
----------
BE: Massamba | 1 MPG | 0 PPG
BE: Evans | 1 MPG | 0 PPG
Again, all just speculation. Can Swap Burg/Abram with each other, don't think it makes much of a difference. Can also swap Phillips/Carey, think they probably have a pretty clean split at time at the four, with Brown taking a minute or two. Really like how deep the team is and how positive the reports are on basically every player. CRB hyping the team up helps!
Some weird picks ahead of us... Kentucky at 9 with more losses and us putting them out in Sweet 16. Illinois coming off 13 losses ahead of us. Arkansas, Iowa State, UCLA, Louisville...all weird to have had worse seasons and some we beat head to head but are ahead of us too.
I think my top 8 is basically same though, would possibly have a few teams switched but still same top 8.
9-18 though lots of changes...
We did lose some big pieces so I get being lower...I think 12-15 range would have made sense.
I think you are spot on. I think that ranking will change quickly when folks see what we got.I think our offseason was a bit unconventional. You'd have to follow our team a lot more closely than your typical AP pundit to really understand our potential, so I can see how we end up this low. It's perfectly reasonable.
But I'm a homer, so take anything I say with a grain of salt LOL.
Vols lack name recognition even though back to back elite 8s. Lost a lot of players as did most teams but most preseason rankings discount Barnes. They don't realize how good the front court can be and only give credit for JG and Ament. Some weird picks ahead of us... Kentucky at 9 with more losses and us putting them out in Sweet 16.
