The Official #12 Tennessee vs. Arkansas Game Thread, 4:15 PM ET, SEC Network

He backed up his words. As for the flipping off, don't be a hypocrite. Fans celebrate Gaulden for his antics so they shouldn't have a problem with the Arky player doing the same...if he did as claimed.
Gaulden flipped off Bama fans. Everyone with a pulse knows that is different. Everyone can support that.

FIRE HEUPEL!!! FIRE BANKS!!! I refuse to accept this win and the win at Miss St. I want Butch back as head coach, Dooley back as WR coach and Pruitt as defensive coordinator. Maybe together those three idiots can rub some nickels together and make more sense than folks pissed about being 5-1 in the NIL landscape that’s now college football. No coach has it figured out yet but I think Heupel is close. I know I don’t want to go through what this program has been through since 2008 again and really before Phil got fired. We are winning and I can’t comprehend why that pisses some fans off. There is no perfect coach, there is no perfect game. There is no Nick Saban out there to hire. How is Lincoln Riley doing with his 10 million a year? Sark is no better. The NCAA is now the NFL without the transparency. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.
The Indy Coach (Cignetti) may be the best at it right now. Indiana. Hoosiers. Never had a football team until this guy. He coaches for 60 minutes.

Simpson is pretty good runner. Watched him scoot for some First downs today. At Bryant Denny, he will be tough to handle.
No 💯 I meant more he’s looking to pass first vs run first if he gets in trouble/drifts in the pocket.

I love this team and this school but man these games are EXHAUSTING. That 4th quarter we did everything in our power to lose that ballgame. Phewwww

Right. Who likes winning? Not me.

Winning is GREAT! <tony the tiger>

Squeaking out wins against teams you should be stomping?

Well, (see above but), sometimes it matters how you win

If you're playing a "Top 10" team and winning by a FG (even if you're ranked above 'em) is what you want

Shoot! Even if you're playing a "team receiving votes" on the road most folks will say, "Playing on the road is tough" but if it's ETSU? You oughta control the game, not have to sweat a win (see MSSt)

Now here comes AR, coach fired and all, lost to Memphis FFS, into your house (forgot, maybe most important, after a bye) and gives you a game? And, this wasn't a "never as close as the score looks" game.

This was a "Holy s***, TN's D might not stop a high school thank god we were two scores up in the 4th qtr at home kind of game"

Its fair criticism to say that this defense can frustrate you. You shouldn't have to rely on great offense all the time to bail out a really bad defense. They're lucky to be 5-1 at this point. Outscoring teams and having no defense has lead to lead to three games where teams in 3 games have scored over 30 against them. Theyre 2-1 in those games. This season isn't going to get any easier with their schedule being what it is. If they can manage to play this shootout style and manage to only lose a couple more, that would be a huge success.

I dont know,as a UNC fan, watching terrible defenses for years despite having great QBs, I have my concerns.

I think we can get OU, we can score on anyone when we let it rip on offense and their offense kinda sucks. I agree that bama and Florida are most likely losses.

When you have to rely on a Heisman candidate QB's offense having to "kinda suck" you're already done

When's the last time TN faced a Heisman candidate that left the game thinking there was no way they could win the damn thing?

Best I can come up with is making Eddie George look bad 20+ years ago, and he'd already won the thing

He's clearly an upgrade and were much better with him than we would have been with Nico.

I will argue to the end of the earth that what happened in the off-season was a net positive. I wanted to cut Nico and free up NIL salary last season.
Oh I agree but Heupel deserves a ton of credit for unlocking him. No one else really saw anything in him but big Josh sure as hell did

We’re the youngest because half our roster is freshmen. Other than Redmond, where are you seeing those freshmen on defense?

These are guys that have been in the system multiple years and they suck in this scheme. We are absolutely awful on defense and there is absolutely no excuse for it with the amount of talent we have

The defensive staff has to be upgraded, it simply has to be if we want back in the playoffs
Perlotte and Walton both played in the 2nd half.

Aside from all the obvious issues already discussed, what's up with injuries during extra points. That's like 3 of our big guys going down on the most routine play in cfb.

The injuries to Gibson and McCoy decimated our defense but we’re winning anyway.
It’s a fair point and it took away a lot talent and experience. This cannot be understated. I think we would be vastly better in the secondary with those two guys having played every game. Redmond is a freshman, making freshman mistakes but learning quickly. We just got a ride with what we got.

Ark has the 5th scoring offense and 2nd rushing offense in the SEC. They have a top 10 offense in the country.

The AD should be ashamed for charging 400 bucks for nosebleed seats to watch this product on the field. I might could understand if we had of won a SEC title or natty in the last decade not damn near 30 years now since either. Shame on you Danny White
It’s a business, plain and simple. Supply and demand. The demand is that we sell out the stadium every home game. That dictates the ticket price. I would never sell my product for less than what I know I can get for it.

No excuses, our D is just bad. Going to have live with it week to week and hope they do just enough to allow the O to win the game. Russian Roulette every week.

This is true. Theyre just going to have to outscore teams to beat them. Its just a fact that this defense is seriously lacking this year and that's going to have to be something that people accept. I dont like it ,and it could possibly lead to a couple of losses, but it is what it is.

You’re right. ETSU and Miss St are the same.
