The Rock - Season Week to Week

Thursday of Week 4 versus UAB.
The Rock went through a couple of changes - early in the week was a an awareness campaign for Systic Fybrosis.
The the last day or two has been advertising for Animal Welfare Club.
Now it looks like perhaps a tribute to Charlie Kirk in the works.

I'll check back in on this late tomorrow and add to the OP with whatever appears.

BTW - the railings are new. Are these because of the updated routes for Band March, Vol Walk, Stadium Entry, etc.?
If so, might be kind of cool to check this feed out on Saturday morning.

Here is current (9/26) status.
I'll check back in later to see if anything changes up here...

Friday morning before Arkansas rolls into town...and we get an advertisement.
Hope there's some student, group, or organization on the ball and gets this updated before tomorrow...
I'll check back in later to see.

Does the old paint ever get blasted off, or is it decades of paint?
Decades of paint.
In 2015, it got very hot and humid that summer and the paint layers slid off in a large piece.

I'm not sure if it was cleaned prior to it being moved in 2009 or not, but I suspect not.

Not going to lie, I was pretty pissed off when the local news was all "Luke Combs Luke Combs" and showing off the Luke Combs-decorated rock on their evening news like we should all be excited about it.

Having the rock painted to advertise a damn commercial concert the day before a home SEC game is the perfect representation of corporate business interests taking over and overriding what has been a locally significant pasttime. They're using the game - and the rock - as an opportunity to market the concert, rather than celebrate the upcoming game. Way to have the priorities straight.

PREACH IT !!!

This has been a pattern in the last couple of years. There used to be a student body committee that had to approve (although they had no real authority) what went on The Rock.
Seems like now though it's just whoever can do whatever.
Anytime SEC Network or ESPN comes to town, they hire someone to paint The Rock and incorporate their logo.
I'm more okay with that because it's done somewhat professionally and is tied to the game being played.

Besides, why they advertising a concert NOW that isn't happening until MAY...oh yeah, that's right because there will be an additional 100-150 THOUSAND MORE sets of eyes on that already in place billboard over the next couple of days...I'm with ya @Voltopia

Easy solution. Bucket of cheap paint. 🎨
…and somebody needs to check their balls out of their wifie’s purse. 😉🤙🏼🧡

An attempt was made and I'll take it since it covers up the advertising and they did a decent job on the Power Ts
Took me a second to realize it says Bucket Listers...wonder if all the initials are folks making a "Bucket list" type trip?
If so, that's awesome and I hope they enjoy the day !!!
