I am confident in Karlyn, Sage, Erin, and Maddi. If Peyton and Kailey can contribute then that’s one of the deeper staffs around.

We have got to be solid at SS as does every team. I think Bella will start at SS but she better bring both her glove and bat with her because she herself is witnessing balls being swatted out and off the wall, not to mention the 4 girls playing SS are making the routine plays so far. The competition is there. I don’t think Karen will wait too long. But I am really pulling for Bella to have a good season.aw

Glad to see Alannah launch one. Like Maddi in the circle and at the plate. Nice to see a hitting pitcher. Emma and Ella alternating SS/3B every other inning and have handled everything that’s come their way, Emma with 2 nice plays, one from each position.

That’s a wrap for me, 20-1 after 7. Maddi 5 hitless innings and a couple of hits. Kailey came in top of the 6th. Taelon, Allannah, and Ella with long balls. It will be nice to see how we do against upgraded competition next weekend vs Ga Tech.

Maddi looking like the number two pitcher or Nuwer both have pitched really well. This looks like the most pitching we've had in a while. Playing Ga Tech will give us a little more information on the hitting, but it is looking really good.

Eastern Kentucky transfer Maddi Rutan is gelling into the Tennessee softball circle — and lineup. The junior utility player continued a strong fall against Lee on Friday, using her two-way abilities to dominate the Flames, 22-1, in nine innings. Rutan earned the start, and delivered five no-hit innings. She also delivered a 3-for-6 day at the plate with a pair of doubles alongside four RBIs.

“She's a linebacker on a softball field and I just love the way she goes about things,” head coach Karen Weekly told The Daily Beacon.
