Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

LOL that question is sure to spark some posts - and maybe arguements- from anyone who’s spent time there. To me every corner has a good restaurant but I love French and Cajun and seafood and comfort food so I’m pretty easy to please in Nola.

Literally anything on magazine street is prime spot and likely to be good - if you look up best restaurants I’d bet a bunch are on magazine.

not for everyone but if you like mad sandwiches and stoner jokes go to turkey and the wolf, and the sister breakfast place mollys rise and shine really good too, definitely need to get a bagel at stein’s, bisoturo good sushi, commanders palace in damn is really nice - a staple that everyone should try once, the original cafe du monde an experience everyone should have, Emerils (like Comm Palace) would be the other really nice place everyone should try once, Brennans also a staple everyone should try - though it’s in FQ, I liked the butcher Cochon and bought a bunch by the pound and they make sandwiches and plates that I imagine are great, tons of good seafood all around - people would probably say you need to hit acme or Felix’s for oysters - I also really like Peche and then Cooter Browns which is basically a college bar that’s historically known for also having oysters. That should get you started haha
Great recommendations. That pretty much covers it. Heading there in November. Peche for dinner. Only restaurant I would add is Saba. Ruby slipper for bloody Mary’s.

I gave up that fight when we hosted a Browns-Falcons preseason game in ‘73.
The preseason Washington Redskins vs Houston Oilers game in 1995 was rough.

*I went for Heath.

**fun fact: that was my 1st date with my wife of 24 years. We had to take her little brother to be a chaperone.

My wife tells me that men are going to attend her niece's baby shower and did I want to. I said first if they attend they are not men and when I grow a uterus I let you know.

I absolutely refused to attend the baby showers for my kids and the one we were invited to for our friends. Luckily my wife understood and was in agreement it’s just for women. But I do feel for those whose wives aren’t like mine.
I got 4 kids and refuse to attend mine or anyone elses baby shower...I did it one time, only because my buddy assured me we would just hang out and drink beer, but it was a setup because he needed help setting up...never again.

I’m close to garden district, Uptown and central city. I have a couple apartment complexes I work at here

I do think this area is better than bourbon street just a bit overrated overall as a whole (bourbon street is a one and done thing. Never again🤣)

Got any favorite restaurants to check out?

Luke on St Charles
Parkway Tavern in Mid-City for po boys
Acme Oyster House
Dat Dog
Mother's
The Camellia Grill

Not only is it super lame, it seems really impractical to mock up a baseball field inside a football stadium for one game. I can't imagine they will draw anywhere near 100k.
I don’t understand the Bananas negativity. What’s it hurt? Not like Neyland is used that much.
