Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

UNC and Belacheat thing is weird. Are they seriously not even going to give this at least one full season? Maybe they’ll flash and have some good memories
From what I've seen, the buyout talks were initiated by Belichick.

"Hey, I don't actually care about turning this around, so how much do you want to pay me to leave?". UNC got scammed. Simple as that. And their AD should be barred from attending or watching any sports at any level forever.

Feels>>>Facts. This is college football fandom, after all.
This was always going to be a rebuilding year. 9 new starters on offense and the entire d line except Josephs. Not to mention not having a QB until late May. But now everyone is acting shocked that we don't look like world beaters. I don't get it lol

The rumor that Belichick was discussing his buyout with UNC was shot down by a UNC writer on the 247 site.

Difference in opinions is what makes this Country great ..
True. But typically, opinion is usually one's thoughts on a set of facts.

An excuse, by definition, is assigning a false cause for a poor result, to deflect blame.

A reason is a factual explanation that provides context without deflecting responsibility.

There's no deflection regarding those injuries is what I'm getting at. It is what it is.

And I think based on that, we've probably gotten from the defense what could reasonably be expected.... Better at pass rush (still elite there) than run d. Pretty good, not great, coverage on the back end.

Run d and coverage should both improve as we get health..ier.

AND my point is every team has injuries, not just Tennessee...

We will just have to disagree.

It's not really a disagreement. It is next man up. But the next man up isn't an all American 1st round draft pick. I think the guys that did step up played pretty well, all things considered.

It's not an excuse to say that's a why we've not been as good in the secondary, or against the run.

That's a reason. Getting these guys back will also be a reason we get better too.

It's only an excuse if you believe it's a true statement to say the production shouldn't or wouldn't drop without those guys playing.

Next man up! But the next man up is either forced to play out of position or is a 280 lb freshman playing DT after less than a year in the strength and conditioning program.

I actually think the guys that have played have held their own. The fact we have true freshman playing corner and not getting lit up every week is amazing... He's had some struggles, sure, but he's had to of exceeded expectations up to this point.
