Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Hope not. I don’t want a pissed off, wounded animal mode Bama. Just let Mizzou beat the crap out of them, but lose a close game.
Then we strike a week later while they are vulnerable. No way they get up for four straight games in a row.
I want Bama to lose every. single. game.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting he’s “holding out”, which would imply he’s refusing to play until he’s given something of value.

The only thing I’ve seen floated is the chatter (Hubbs, LWS, Stoerner?) that there are those in his camp, namely agents, that are advising him not to play at all. Which again, would not be a “hold out”.

I absolutely believe he wants to play.
I also believe there could be money men telling him not too.

Both can be true.
Agents. Ruin. Everything

It's so funny that Jesse Perry is our highest-graded OL on the year because I was told (and some STILL insist) that Glen Elarbee couldn't develop a recruit into a stud OL.

It already didn't look like a great argument, now it's a dunce cap.
Pretty sure I also recall someone stating about a week or two before the season started that Perry was "just a body".

Edit: just did a search on it. It was @KingVFL stating Pendleton was"just a body."

Few musings

George looks great but unfortunately he's just so thin. I don't think he's quite ready to handle a full season physically. Aguilar will definitely be the guy going into game one imo.

Physically the freshman are quite impressive. David Sanders is a man. Brame, Radarious Jackson, Morris, Dye.

Linebackers will be the best we've had in a long time.

No real dynamic playmakers on offense it seems (right now at least).

Secondary will be better if McCoy comes back even close to healthy. DL isn't as twitchy but is really solid.

I'd expect OL to be better than last year. Moe was a good pickup. Pendleton is just a body. Perry will be good. Heard and Warren are in better shape.

QB play is really just a killer right now. Nico (and Carnell Tate) really hosed us as this could've been a real championship caliber team.

Tennessee is 4-1 going into a game at home vs Arkansas, whether the defense is good or not, wins are all that matters..

I understand the Super Fans don't want to say that Tennessee has issues on the defensive side of the ball but the injury excuse is old as time because EVERY team has injuries ...
Nobody's saying that the defense doesn't have issues. There are just obvious explanations for what's going on besides "Tim Banks sucks". I mean our defense was top 10 in pretty much every statistical category last year so it's not like he's not capable.

The guy asked in what way are we statistically elite, and I gave multiple examples.

I guarantee the defense will be much better with the addition of Hobbs and Moi. I don't really know how you can deny that
