Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Dbs are irrelevant if the QB doesn't have time to throw the ball. . .
With a dominant pass rush, the db can play cards back there. Like pitching baseball, with dominant pitching no defense required. That is why edge rushers are highly sought and well paid.
That is why Lawrence Taylor made more money than Deion, even though Deion play at time of higher pay scale and Deion played a year longer.

Flats wide open all day

Just play man Banks, screw it, be aggressive.
Banks is basically a contain guy who will turn up the heat if he thinks he has the advantage. And frankly he really doesn't need to be super aggressive, we are going to score. He is about tfls, turnovers, and avoiding explosives. This the modern way of defense, the General would agree.
The team that makes the fewest mistakes wins.
Play for and make the breaks. When one comes your way - SCORE.

It's because AP has said things about his "camp" wanting him to hold out for the draft.
Yep. And you can tell he is very intentional
with what he says and even paused before answering to Ramon…

Essentially he will play “when he practices.” But as Patrick brown and others have pointed out, he does have external factors going against him, he wants to play but others don’t, but he has been running and cutting since August 8th.

This is exactly why the narrative of "his camp" bs needs to stop. He got hurt in January of 2025, based on the average NFL recovery time, he would be cleared to return in to games in 13.6 months, which is after the 2025 National Championship Game...so yea im sure there are some in his camp that would recommend focusing on the Draft, but it sounds like he is doing everything he can to return before that. If he doesn't, it shouldn't be held against him and he shouldn't be labeled a "pussy fraud" for it. I don't blame you for having this logic, I blame all the jackwagons trying to get e-cred by spouting it over and over.

Again, the dude had ACL surgery 8 and a half months ago. It is not normal to come back that fast.
If you keep making sense you're gonna get banned. Irrational and delusional is all that is allowed. Get it together man.

I get that, but I also like the idea of remaining very aggressive because we can score. If we keep rushing 4 and just let Simpson pick us apart, then Banks should he criticized accordingly.

When are people going to learn? These "expert insider don't know any more than my wife, in fact she probably knows more.

Well if he is limiting explosive plays, he has been horrid at it this year so far. Biggest issue with banks is getting his dang defense off the field on long third downs and not letting a team convert fourth down. If he did that, we would be a top 25 defense right now before getting healthier. I don’t think he is ever going to change his soft zone on third and long though. He hasn’t in years. It worked with McCoy and Gibson, but it isn’t with Redmond and he needs to adjust. IMO

It’s literally coming from the mouth pieces of our university. They all essentially have the same message.

He wants to play and is telling people he wants to play.

He has been cutting and running since August 8th.

He still has to be cleared by his doctor and our doctors to practice with the team before being able to play in a game. And that timeline could be different for everyone since everyone has different opinions and views on when he should play.

I think it wouldn’t shock anyone to see him play soon or not see him at all but he is ahead of schedule for recovery.

Hes all about “avoiding explosives” but yet gives up a ton of explosives.

Yeah he won't be safe from rightful ridicule if he never plays this year. Ya can't be out sprinting on August 8th in full practice gear and say you still weren't ready to go about 4 months later.

I have faith he won't screw over the team, but I don't see how he's not practicing yet considering...he's what 21? elite athlete and has the best rehab you can get.

Fans watched ZZ come back in less than a year and think all athletes should be able to. Different person and different sport...
