A&M looked beyond horrific on offense until the 4th, i don't like agreeing with bot, but hes right.

States already banged up oline got banged up worse last week and they had to turn around from a tough overtime game and go to an absolutely syked kyle field.

A&M looked significantly worse than us on offense and they didn't have to hear no cowbells

so yeah, theres context
Cowbells didn’t make us look like goofs on defense.

UNFORCED turnovers. We had a first time punt returner drop a punt and we had our most reliable TE have two passes go out of his hands up into the air perfectly for INTs. If we played MSU 10 more times the score wouldn't be that close again.
Unless the Vols commit the turnovers in every game. Then what?

My point is that you can't say 'if' this or that. The mistakes happened. It's UTs fault for making the mistakes. If they want to win in the playoffs, no unforced errors.

Hopefully they improve in those areas.

Let me sum up Bobby's press conference: "It's a brand new cycle. We have something good going here and we really don't want to wreck things."

It wasn't Einstein who said it but it's a colloquial definition of insanity that doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting the results to be different is just that.

How did Fulmer 2.0 go for Tennessee? Louisville 2.0 for Bobby?? ha ha. I said when he was hired maybe the Falcons will have an opening if Arkansas doesn't hire him on. How many times do you let one man fool you?

-We are more likely to beat Tennessee than we were a week ago. TN coaching staff will have no idea what we're going to run. What if we come out in a 3-4 base with aggressive blitzing and man on the backend?
Oh please gawd them try switch from 4-3 base to 3-4 base mid-season. Tennessee would put up 100. That said, whoever had this hope is a moron.

Growing up in Memphis, we were always told that Arkansas was where you went when they kicked you out of Tennessee.
I always thought growing up that the settlers who founded Arkansas were trying to get into Kansas but Kansians or whatever said, "We don't want you filthy peasants" and they settled instead in Arkansas and called it "OUR-Kansas." You know how language evolves, I just figured it eventually it became Arkansas.

Agreed, but that was all on us. We pretty much spotted them 21 points off of dumb mistakes. That was a tough road game too with those stupid cowbells. Had it been at Neyland and without the 3 dumb mistakes we run away with it. Not to mention that was an emotional loss for them and tough to turn around and go to Kyle Field after.

Many things play into games but comparing teams against each other doesn’t mean much. FSU isn’t better than Bama and UCLA isn’t better than Penn State, but it only takes one time to catch a team napping. Hopefully it doesn’t happen to us.
Tough road game? All I heard last week was how it was basically a neutral site with 40% of the crowd wearing orange.

Bet my left nut we hang at least 40 on them like every other team we have played this season. Probably hang 50 on them. I will be there with my daughter thanks to the kindness of another VN poster who has season tickets. We should have both of our starting DTackles back. We have had 2 weeks to heal nagging injuries too. Theres no way in Hell this team scores 40 points on us in Neyland. Cant wait for kickoff. Go VOLS
We probably will, but our defense will also give up 35-45.

Some of them act like since they fired their coach they also turned over the entire roster and have brand new players suiting up after one week.

It's the same dudes. Arkansas isn't good. There's no excuse to do anything but beat them by multiple scores at home.

We absolutely should.

But some teams have that new coach energy for the first game and crazy things can happen.

I get that we have nothing on tape that is going to show whatever they are going to do.

The question is whether there are changes that could make with the personnel they have to make a big difference.

I would hope from both a team and fan perspective that we would not be blindsided or overconfident like Penn State was.

And they forget the possibility that Tennessee has had a bye week too - and may mix in a few twists.
I think Petrino has been calling the plays for them on offense all season, so I would not expect drastic changes from their offense, maybe a couple of added plays and maybe a trick play or two, another fake punt or something, but the defense may a bit different.

We have fans on here firing and rehiring Tim Banks every other Saturday when Arkansas fans are so hard up they are talking about donating to Arkansas State! Will Butch Jones benefit from Arkansas' stupidity? This would be like one of us donating to Vandy. Cannot imagine.

"If they hire someone like the Missouri OC I will dedicate the rest of my life to consistently playing the powerball until I win and then donate it all to Arkansas State to spite the UofA."
