Lindsey Nelson Stadium,

Hey, @Ned Land ! Just checking in- how are things going?
Can't remember what I posted last. Went back to Houston for a rescan. Chemo is working. I had about a 10% shrinkage on everything. Chemo was supposed to get worse each time but I am handling it really well. As a matter of fact, I feel completely normal. I get it every two weeks and I feel like crap for 3 days and improve each day from there. Thanks for checking on me! Feeling a lot better about being at that home opener!

VolNation celebration party for @Ned Land at the home opener. Who’s with me?!

ETA: I mean, it’ll likely be at 4:00 PM on a Friday, but I can’t think of a better reason to knock off work early…

Wish I had a “Love” option, but I don’t, so I gave this post a “like.”

Dropped by yesterday to watch the Intra-squad scrimmage. Offense looked great. Numerous home runs including Blaine Brown, Henry Ford, Levi Clark, and several others that I didn’t recognize. LNS is coming along albeit slowly. I don’t see it being completed by Feb but hopefully I’m wrong. I hope there are severe financial penalties in the contract to put a sense of urgency in the construction team. GBO!

What have they been doing this whole time??? Like it's absolutely ridiculous that even the right field side isn't ready yet!

It looks like they at least got all the steel in place.

I know the job site is difficult to access but this took way too long. Especially since the weather has been good most of the year.

The subs can get a lot done once the roof is on

The hardscaping and landscaping on the former Pat Head Summitt Drive needed to be started already. I suspect we will be trudging through some construction outside the stadium in the spring but the stadium will be largely done.

Danny and the Athletic Department need to blackball this construction company out of the East TN area once the job is done

This month’s update. It doesn’t have @taylorvol ’s nice pictures, however. Yes, it says projected completion of spring 2027.

Thank you sir. I was worried that Spring 2027 wasn’t a typo but Danny White indicated something along the lines of “it better be finished by Feb as it was supposed to be finished last year” (Paraphrasing an interview he did for WIVK). It sounds like it won’t be completely renovated until Feb 27. Nothing should take 3 years even with the utility issues and working around the baseball season. It should be totally unacceptable to the UT Administration. I’d love to know the financial implications for the contractor for the massive time delays.

Makes me wonder if the interior will be pretty much wrapped up by Opening Day, but the outside/streetscape part might drag out til 27. That's where most of the issues remain and I could see taking a while.

From the pictures it looks like most of the interior (field facing) work could be in the dry relatively soon and a lot of the inside concrete work sounds done.

I could see them getting all that done by late February (if its gets in the dry soon enough), and then just trying to reach a hold point on the outside/Pat Summitt Street to make it workable for a season (similar to this year).
