Upset Saturday = Good News for Vols

Biggest concern will be, what offense will they run, what defense will they use. Different coaches on both sides of the ball. Tennessee will probably have to change how they play on both sides of the ball. This one could possibly bite us in the butt.

I didn’t expect much from ms st after a physical and emotional OT L at home then heading to one of the loudest stadiums where aggies wouldnt get gashed up the middle. It was a game for awhile but ms st had no gas left in the 4th, again somewhat expected.
That said, coulda been different. Ms st had 3rd and a foot for td in the 1st so what do you do as a coach? You bring in a backup qb into the loudest part of the stadium and put him in shotgun, get a false start due to change in rhythm and cadence then end up kicking a fg. Also a huge dumb penalty extended aggies drive instead of change of possession. Shoulda/coulda had the ball with momentum up 7-0, and you never know.

It hasn’t been good, but it’s also correctable stuff in the run D . If we get McCoy back that should be a positive impact .
No really, we are doomed. Don’t be bringing anything positive to this thread. Anyone who breathes anything positive on this board is an orange glasses wearing sunshine pumper. You must follow the edicts of the miserable minority that proudly fly the banner of the Legion of the Miserable.

Yep. And not just those two games. OU and Vandy will both be wars. If someone offered me a split of those 4 right now, I'd take it. Everyone keeps saying we have a soft schedule, but I dunno. Looks pretty challenging from where I sit.
Vandy will not be a war in any way, shape or form...they are a 7-5 team at best

I think they're a more complete team at the moment. Their defense is physical and appears to be better tacklers than we are. Offensively, Pavia's mobility and they way they get him in space allowing him to pick and choose is a very good coaching job. Really hard to defend. Kudos to Bama for finally getting his under some control to win that game. Hope Vandy's schedule wears Pavia down like it did last year. No way do I want him full strength when they come to town.
Is this a joke?

Yes I am the clueless one lol we have lost to bad teams in the Swamp with much better defenses than our current one. Shockingly you are probably predicting a 20 point victory and will be full of excuses after it doesn’t happen. It will be the refs fault, the humidity, or we just had too many injuries on the defense to win
Oh maybe we will just go down there and win, i'm sure you will make excuses for that...we are one of the best teams in the country...just deal with that fact "vol" fan

Just seeing reality. Bama can’t run …. We will out score most teams we will
Play … hell our freaking kicker hits a chip shot fg. We be undefeated sit back and enjoy the ride bro
What ifs go both ways. We could’ve just as easily been 0-2 in conference play right now. I just don’t think we have the D to go on the road abd take one from FL and Bama. We shall see.

People reacting to MSU getting blown out and our D now shutting them down, but also forgetting they 21 of their 34 points were basically handed to them by stupid mistakes on offense. If A&M had given them as many short fields as we did, they probably score a lot more.

A&M looks terrible
Actually, A&M looked pretty good. Their defense is fast a d strong and their offense is quick ,fast and run the ball very well. Their WB is a threat on the ground and in the air. Their receivers are fast, get open, and catch the ball. They have lots of talent and they are one of the best 2-3 teams in the SEC. They controlled MSU’s offense which put 41 points on our defense. I don’t want to play them unless it’s for the SEC Championship.

There is a situation developing where we may have to win out to get in to the playoff because theres still a scenario where Ole Miss, UGA, Bama and A&M all have only 1 loss at the end of the season, and I see no way they let more than 4 SEC teams in.
