60% of Americans had an unfavorable view of the March on Washington. That didn't help?Protests only "help" when the majority of the country or normal people think and agree with the protestors' message.
This is why the Occupy Wall St/BLM/Trans/anti-police/anti-ICE/pro-COVID masks/No Kings/I hate billionaires/Fight for Ukraine/Fight for Palestine/insert next talking point here groups never make any headway
If someone deeply cared and did want to try to help stop the suffering how should they go about it?Some of it is for sure religious for many. For some (I’d put myself here) it’s more strategic (allies against China, Russia, etc).
What I don’t understand is the obsessive crowd. I keep up with the conflict and try to stay informed. We have some in here constantly posting their latest fb feed story regarding the issue.
But then there’s another level beyond that. Anyone who is protesting in Europe over flotilla, anyone who is harming Jewish or Palestinian people within our country or abroad, anyone who is making significant life choices to ensure they boycott the proper groups as part of a strategy to divest from Israel, etc
That stuff is wild. “I’m going to shut down the local train station because of Palestine!”-huh?
Do you have an idea of why they’re using that interest and why Gaza v Israel seems to be amplified compared to other countries?Yes and no, I think people always seize on the current events to manipulate, both those they agree with and others that don't.
I also believe there are powers beyond our understanding at play. Do with that what you will.
I'm not sure if people are causing the interest, but are definitely using that interest.
We are all so impossibility intertwined now you almost have to pay attention to world events.
What if the objective of funding and arming israel was to stop the spread of Muslim extremism, would you still say stay out of it not our problem?I am basically indifferent. I have a slight lean towards Israel because, while not great, their government is closer to my ideals than any state in the region.
I'd prefer we stay out of it. No money, no arms, no aid. Completely neutral.
I participate in the convo for the same reasons I do others. I am genuinely curious about people; how they think, why they think, what they think. I like learning new things and frequently people introduce articles and reports which helps expand my knowledge. I like the posters in the PF, too. We are in interesting bunch.
Over a million arrested, birth rates plummeted through forced birth control, GPS trackers on their cars, government working living in the homes of Uyghurs to make sure they’re abiding culturally, forcibly taking away children and brainwashing them. Really sick and twisted stuffWasn't there an ethnic cleansing/ genocide in China recently, too? Against a society of Chinese Muslims?
Israel's neighbors and Arab's in general use it to promote their interests, interestingly enough both for and against Israel. They use it to marginalize Iran and it's allies as well as Israel even when they openly support Israel.Do you have an idea of why they’re using that interest and why Gaza v Israel seems to be amplified compared to other countries?
Yes. that's the one. the Uyghurs.Over a million arrested, birth rates plummeted through forced birth control, GPS trackers on their cars, government working living in the homes of Uyghurs to make sure they’re abiding culturally, forcibly taking away children and brainwashing them. Really sick and twisted stuff
