Rock Icon, 77, Says Alison Krauss Lectured Him on How to Hold a Note
"We started rehearsing for this show, and I was singing away, you know, and then she said, 'stop,'" he recalled. "She said 'where do you expect me to sing when you're changing the melody to suit yourself all the time? I can't do it unless you sing it straight.' So I said 'Oh is that how it works?' And there we are. We've had two fantastic records together."
The pair of music legends are platonic musical soulmates, and they revel in their camaraderie. In a 2024 interview with USA Today, the duo discussed what working together was like, and Plant had nothing but admiration for Krauss.
"I’ve learned a lot in my time around Alison and the world that comes with her, and it’s been a spectacle of charm, politeness and peach cobblers," he quipped.
On a more serious note, he said that his time with Krauss has deeply influenced his life.
