The IGs are how we keep people accountable. They deal with a lot of "cry wolf " but they typically work independently. The issue is Trump takes revenge on anyone who hurts his feelings or isn't in lockstep with him because the dude is the poster boy for human frailty. This isn't Russia or Iran. Everything Trump is doing is setting up the dims to do it 10 fold when they take over again and something tells me that's happening sooner rather than later as soon as they find someone with an ounce of leadership ability.

only if you believe there are only two sides. especially when those two sides are determined by politicians who maintain their power by dividing us.

you also miss the obvious case of once you establish that one side is worse the "better" side loses any motivation to be better, because they can just point to the "worse" one. this is where you fall, you will accept ANYTHING to get rid of Trump.

You are touching on his problems. Once you make morality a relative and meaningless concept, you can do whatever you want to with it. It literally just becomes the worst of Machiavellian tactics. Nothing is "actually" wrong or right. Just useful for manipulating your end results.

You can excuse your side for doing it, while demonizing your enemies for doing it. Sound familiar?

You can call it wrong today when it benefits you and use it as an ideal tomorrow when that suits you. Sound familiar?

You can hit the escape hatch by merely claiming that we're all just bald apes, and yawn at the implications of that statement. Because it suits you, and also because you have nowhere else to go when questioned.


Save the babies because they are of immense, objective value! You should suffer if it saves just one baby! (Also, they're just ape meat and would be treated much differently by the jungle apes, and I have no basis to say why we-apes should be any different than they-apes.)

I agree with you on that. If there is a violation they should be punished according to the law. It’s simple. We have rules, both sides should follow them and, if they don’t, both sides should be punished accordingly.

Fair statement. You see it all the time and everywhere though. Whatever WestTN posted about Biden, Trump saying NeoNazis are fine people. People fall for it constantly. I’d hope the last several years have opened people’s eyes (see Covid), but I’m not so sure.

Was Trump the one that shut it down, or Dem leadership?

What am I missing? What I get is that the Dems are refusing a CR that they have historically praised, as a filibuster because they have lost any other political leverage?
