President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Hegseth seemed To be practicing for a role in a b grade movie. He doesn't know generals or admirals don't charge enemy lines or engage in hand to hand. But let's take senior officers away from duties to pt daily.
Going back to the days of slapping recruits around will bring back the draft. Ole Pete is an incompetent idiot.

Thank you for your service!

Why is the secretary of defense worried about whether or not senior officers participate in daily group PT if they are passing their yearly PT tests?

One would think that the secretary of defense would have more concerning matters to personally attend to.
Ever consider it's so that maybe there high ranking people who make the calls to send troops to battle, maybe spending some time doing PT with them will Humanize the troops as opposed to just being a common fodder number. Just another option on why.

Lol, you are really on a roll today. From the article you linked but didn't bother to read.

Ivanpah Solar Power Facility officially started operation in 2014 by the way.
Dosent really change the point, the massive project was intended to last for decades, it ended up using so much natural gas it ran afoul of California caps. It didn't live up to the electric output it promised.

It was and is a massive failure.

Why does a private have to participate in daily group PT if they can pass their PT test?

It could also be a ploy to get some of the lard azzes to retire.
A private will be involved in long marches and patrols. Lower enlisted will be doing the combat, those "lard azzes" will be doing the planning so yes a private should be able to pass a pt test. No need and counter productive for O6 and above.

Every damn person wearing a uniform and collecting a check needs to able to pass a PT test. Minimum standards ain't hard.

But the question Bearded asked was why should a general be required to do organized PT when they can pass a PT test. My question back was why should a private be required when they can pass a PT test? Since you mentioned that O-6 and above aren't in active combat and just doing planning they don't need PT why would a PAC clerk or an electronics technician need to do PT since they're not going to be in active combat?

This is good….right?

President Trump signs executive order that will boost childhood cancer research.

Making America Greater for All Americans!!

Don’t recall the previous administration doing these things.

@swampfoxfan I'll tell you a funny story.

In '94 I was voluntold for the brigade NCO of the quarter board. The board was being held in the field since we were in field cycle so that meant you went in front of the board in BDUs, kevlar and web gear. Our brigade SGM was a real azzhole, the guy that every piece of gear had to be dress right dress, flashlight on left, 2 canteen pouches, 2 ammo pouches, no butt packs, no glint tape on kevlar cover, no gortex in garrison ext. So most troops had two sets of web gear an inspection and a field set, I did recon so I didn't even have my kevlar with me. Had to be shuttled back to the barracks to get all my parade chit so I was ticked off to begin with.

Board went well until the BSGM asked the last question, there was a RIF going on at the time and promotion points to E-6 were maxed and this guy asked if I could advise command on how the reduction should happen what would I say (paraphrasing of course). My answer was "I'd start getting rid of the over 25 year E-9s and E-8s that can't pass a PT test, never get their asses in the grass and are sitting around holding down slots keeping good youngers soldiers from getting promoted". Needless to say I did not win the board.

Very convenient, don't you think?

You think the judge is lying about the threat? Is that because you live in a world where the president lies all the time about everything and now you're just conditiioned to not take anybody seriously?

Would it totally surprise you to find out that there really was a threat? They're making threats out in the open.

If you need to do group PT to "humanize" the soldiers under your command, then someone effed up with they put you in command.

And yet, when some minor “less concerning” thing goes sideways, the usual suspects will be here screaming, “Hegseth is in charge, he must resign now!”

Which "minor less concerning thing" has gone sideways, and someone has called for Hegseth's resignation?

Be specific.

Did someone call for Hegseth to resign because they saw a 55 year old O7 who didn't look like he raided RFK jr's steroid stash?

No, I’m saying that I wouldn’t put it past them though. Would you have thought a judge would try to sneak a person, that the federal government was legally looking for, out through her chambers to obstruct the officers?

Would you put it past a Trump appointed judge to make up a threat ? No, you wouldn’t and you have good reason not to, but you believe the judge in this case because it fits your world view.

You’re correct that I am conditioned to not take anyone seriously, but it isn’t because of just Trump. Open your eyes man

Can't speak for every service but on board a naval vessel everybody must be prepared to fight fires, bail water, repair hull breeches and so forth. With the marine Corp every marine s a fighting unit,no exceptions.
