Tennessee’s 2026-2029 schedules reveal discussion

Not arguing with you - that's your opinion, and it very well could be the case. However, what I stated above was a fact, from the SEC scheduling guidelines:

Annual opponents will be evaluated after each four-year cycle to maintain continued competitive balance
Obviously it says that, but they aren't going to do jack to the major rivalries unless something drastic happens, otherwise the whole exercise has been pretty pointless. Maintaining long standing rivalries is clearly very, very important to the SEC in terms of priorities.

I love our new scheduling format. I would prefer to play Bama, UGA, and Florida every season, but it's okay to get the Dawgs and Gators every other year as long as we get Bama. But what I really like is that we get regular, biennial games against Auburn, LSU, Mizzou, Oklahoma and Texas. We can definitely establish rivalries with teams we meet every other year. And our strength-of-schedule is going to be hard to match.

Lol, thats hilarious. I agree with you, I'd like to go back to 10 team conferences. But continuous expansion seems to be the name of the game unfortunately.
I hate expansion. We should have been playing a 9 SEC game schedule back before expansion.

Every other year, half of the SEC plays 5 away games. Best learn how to win on the road.
