President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

That's not what this is about, the issue is health care subsidies for ACA plans a/k/a people on Obamacare.

Trump saying its about transgender and illegals is taking a tiny sliver of the whole and saying that is what is driving the bus. Just not true.

But Trump knows that his cult only reads headlines and 25 word summaries by his tweeting minions and bail on the discussion as soon as facts get more than superficial.

That's a number I can't find but did find this article from the LA Times from January and we the taxpayers have lost billions on these green energy loan guarantees.

Boiling Point: Farewell to Ivanpah, the world's ugliest solar plant
Interesting article. Thanks.

Seemed silly to have 3 pages of argument about whether this specific project was a waste of taxpayer money without knowing what if any of the loan was repaid.

The lack of transparency is an issue for me. Wikipedia says that they were federally guaranteed loans, not loans from the government. This contains sourced quotes that imply that the government is the lender. Not knowing whether there is a taxpayer loan, whether the loans have recouped the initial principal, or whether the ROI has kept up with inflation, is a real problem.

If you take taxpayer dollars for a project, the taxpayers ought to be able to look up your payment history and balance and you probably ought to have to give quarterly earnings statements like a publicly traded stock until you’ve paid it off.

Fed backed loans leave the taxpayer on the hook if the borrower goes into default, the lender is guaranteed to get their money.

I understand, just pointing out that it isn’t entirely clear what role the government had in the agreement.
