Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

I better double watch my spelling in case I ever make it..wouldnt want to look like a sloppy rube.

On this note...just a public service announcement from the least educated GED holding VOL among us. (Me)

These words are not the same, and have been used incorrectly in the Charlie thread repeatedly:

Tenant
Tenet.
Unless you're talking about someone renting a house etc you want the bottom word. Hasnt been used correctly once yet.

Moral
Morale
The top one means whether something is right or wrong, sinful or not.
The bottom one is the general attitude of a group such as "team Morale really went to crap when the FG went wide right."

* also OB you know youre always good with me buddy!!

True. I wouldn’t say ESPN loves us now but I don’t think they hate us like they did in the 90’s. We’ve been down for so long now that we’re getting some traction there is no reason to pick on us I think.

Plus I’ve seen quite a few articles or tweets today that put our game at the best game of the season by far thus far and in the running as best game of the year. It’s clear to anyone with a football IQ that two very good teams squared off and it went beyond the wire to declare a winner.

Agreed. But I do believe Fowler still has personal resentment against us. Seems that way when he calls the game or maybe I’m being overly sensitive.

I have not been this sad over a game in a while
I think what got me is that we had a legit chance to win against a good/great team.

that comes so rarely, and we lost it. they didn't beat us. it wasn't Georgia blocking it, it wasn't having to run out the kicking team as time wound down. we just lost it.

we were so close, we had it, and just didn't grab it.

I do take solace in knowing that we are clearly a better team than we have been. I think if you had given me the score and the stats before the game, without going into the specifics, I would have accepted the results and felt good.

Agreed.

We had 3 VERY good chances to win in the last 3 minutes of regulation. The 4th and 6 where we didnt get a stop and Banks left a freshman corner 1 on 1 in man defense for the 70th time...the 2 point comversion on the very next play when Hood and the Nickel werent prepared and left Branch WIDE open...and then the FG. If we made the play on any of those 3 chances then we beat UGA. We didnt, went 0 for 3 and they won the game. Those are just the 3 chances in the last 3 minutes. As yall know, there were other 4th downs, other 3rd and longs, other BS penalties including drives where we had them in 3rd and long TWICE and the refs called either DB holding or PI and gave the pups 1st downs. There were so many things that could have gone our way and did not.

What we DID do that is very encouraging is we answered every time UGA made a big play and scored a TD. We went right down the field and scored ourselves. It was an amazing game, and we actually did enough to beat UGA and a couple refs. We have a really good team. We had a bunch of very important players from 26 and 27 on campus to experiece what had to be incredible to witness in person. I am really impressed by how good our offense is already this season and our team...but I am still not over losing Saturday yet. Random thoughts about what could have been still linger. Even Kirby said in many ways his team didnt deserve to win that game. He knows that missed FG was a gift.

Gunner stockton SEC offensive player of the week. Really hoped it would be Razzle Brazzell.

Freak has the game tape up on yt now. I didn't realize how badly Turrentine played til rewatching it. He took terrible angles all game and got beat in coverage. They picked on him as much as Redmon between the run and pass plays. Turrentine lead the team in missed tackles last year with 12...as a Safety. When a safety misses a tackle its a BIG gain. I really hoped we had someone to beat him out this year and start, but that didnt happen. I wonder what happened to Jacobe Thomas? Farooq played pretty well yesterday especially for a 1st year starter. Seems like Turrentine has been here for CJH entire 5 years. We have 2 really good Safety prospects coming in the 2026 class, one of which is (former) 5* Wyatt. Our defense will be much better when we have 2 good Safeties. We have had issues at Safety since CJH got here. Thats why we brought in J. Thomas. Wouldnt be surprised to see us grab another Safety next portal this winter.
