Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

That is surprising given the pull of the Gators. They can pretty much pull any coach they want. Maybe they should have stayed with Mullen a touch longer. I still think he's a strong coach.
Muschamp and Mullen were strong hires on paper, and they both delivered good seasons before collapsing. But McElwain and Napier were reaches from the beginning. Mac at least had the fortune of taking advantage of an extremely weak SEC East (before Kirby got things rolling in Athens). I don't think there are any programs that can get their first choice 100% of the time now. And even when you do, it's still a dice roll. No different than NFL teams drafting QBs.

I think it's an offensive identity problem. He's trying to play bully ball and that's not what has made Florida good in the past. Unless you're UGA with the most talented roster in the country, you're not winning that way.
I think that's part of it, but his problems are more numerous than just that haha

I think the VQ guys are extremely fair. I don't want them to act like a regular idiot on a message board, I want them to tell the truth when things are good and bad. And I think that's what they do.
I want one to be a homer
Not all of them
I also want local media to quit crushing our sports teams and leaking info when bad stuff happens

Afraid to break it to you but Illinois is this years Indiana.. Illinois only loss I see is vs Ohio State in November....rest of schedule is very winnable, especially if they go to Indiana and win in 3 weeks..
I think the tv people may have learned a lesson from last year's DEI playoff teams. NOBODY WATCHES CRAPPY TEAMS GET CRUSHED. Ratings rule and DEI is dead, hopefully we get some decent football.

I would argue that the hiring of Sunbelt Billy indicates this isn’t true.

I would put money on it that in the end it will be just like last season.

4 SEC teams
4 Big Ten teams
1 Big 12
1 Group of 5 team
1 ACC team

Team number 12 will be a extra ACC or Big 12 team...

As in years past, Georgia has look pretty pedestrian in their first couple of games but come out and look like a completely different team when they play us or another SEC opponent. I personally feel that Kirby prepares his team for these big games, but doesn't really show anything during the lead up games. They know they can win without really trying, so they don't really try. The play calling was all just for show, we will see a completely different offense next week. They might show the same screen looks, but then throw the out or seam play for a TD. This will be a fight and we need to be our best to win.
