Mamdani Hauls Massive Amount In Recent Campaign Donations

Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani has amassed over $1 million in campaign contributions for his New York City mayoral bid, The Hill reported Saturday.

This allowed Mamdani to surpass both former Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and incumbent Democratic Mayor Eric Adams in recent fundraising efforts, according to The Hill. Mamdani collected just over $1 million between July 12 and Aug. 18 through small-dollar donations, the city’s campaign finance board reported. His grassroots campaign drew an average contribution of $121, with donors split almost equally between New York residents and out-of-state supporters.

The fundraising numbers dwarf those of his competitors during the same period. Cuomo, also running as an independent, raised $541,301 with an average donation of $646. Some of these funds came from his former state campaign account, the outlet reported. Adams, also campaigning as an independent, brought in $425,181 with contributions averaging $770.

Always a great sign when a candidate has a large grassroots movement, as opposed to corporate donors.

Stunning idiocy, but glad it is up there for me to watch ...

From the article:

Democratic mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani and his comrades at the Democratic Socialists of America want to wipe out the enforcement of all misdemeanor offenses, The Post has learned.

“For all of the working class to achieve collective liberation we must constrain, diminish, and abolish the carceral forces of the state — from prisons and police themselves, to their manifestations in all forms throughout society,” according to the national party’s latest platform, adopted in 2021.

The misdemeanors the DSA wants to erase aren’t minor slip-ups. In the Empire State, they include theft or shoplifting up to $1,000, drug possession, assault without a weapon and even driving while intoxicated.

In its most recent platform, the group blasts policing and detention as “instruments of class war” designed to “guarantee the domination of the working class” — and demands an end what it calls “the criminalization of working-class survival.”

On the campaign trail, Mamdani has repeatedly called for police to stop focusing on what he’s referred to as “non serious crimes.”

“Police have a critical role to play but right now we’re relying on them to deal with the failures of our social safety net, which is preventing them from doing their actual jobs,” he said in a campaign video posted to X Wednesday.

He doubled down on his longstanding push to legalize prostitution this week.

Interesting that HALF his donations came from outside NY. Wonder where? The sandbox? China? Russia? California? Who else wants Communism in the US? Nobody with any knowledge of history whatsoever...unless they want to see NYC destroyed.

I hope he wins.
Watching the world burn when it doesn’t matter to me is great

Yep if you support an admitted Socialist/Communist to govern where you live then you're a freaking idiot and deserve the outcome. Feel sorry for all the sensible non Democrats outside of NYC that will see their livelihoods affected by the destruction of that city though. Like Conservatives in CA, those folks are basically hostages with no representation in Congress etc due to being outnumbered by Dimwits. Especially with the gerrymandering. The Left are losing their minds over redrawing in Texas but theres little they can do to retaliate because those liberal states are already gerrymandered as much as they can possibly be. California apparently found a way to sheit on Conservatives in their state even more than before...but theres little room elsewhere. I am interested to see what the final +/- comes out to be after TX and CA are done.

Red states are generally far more gerrymandered than blue states are. You have this incredibly backwards, shockingly

I think it will be awesome to watch.
And the destruction of NYC will be glorious to watch.
I'm almost hoping he gets elected.
