Their voters will buy it. Any people capable of critical thought would have ran in the opposite direction after DiBlasio. These people aren’t producers. They’re takers and they will follow anyone who offers a free stuff /zero consequences lifestyle.

That’s a fair point. I should refine mine by saying that I don’t believe the majority of the producers in the financial sector are wild about the Zohan. But some of them are so rich that it doesn’t matter to them who the mayor,is so maybe they don’t care.

socialism is just the vehicle to communism. its designed to fail. so that the next time they have to take more money, more power, do even more, and take away from the citizens for the greater good.

A 21-year-old gun-toting thug has been terrorizing Staten Island for years thanks to the state’s Raise the Age Law — notching even attempted-slay raps before netting anything close to real punishment, law-enforcement sources say.

Lloyd Francis was first busted at age 14 and has now been arrested a half-dozen times on attempted-murder, robbery, assault and felony gun-possession charges.

Yet before being convicted of his sixth serious crime last month, Francis — a suspected member of the local Town Savages Only gang — had served a total of about two years behind bars because of the Empire State’s lax juvenile justice statutes, according to records and sources.

The same coddling laws ensure that half of his arrests are sealed, too, meaning their details and dispositions are kept from public scrutiny.

Francis was finally hit with a 10-year prison term after being convicted of his second attempted-murder charge earlier this year.

But even then, the sentence was just a fraction of the 25 years he could have faced if he hadn’t been considered a juvenile in the earlier cases.

“He has the criminal history of someone three times his age before he’s even 21,” a disgusted law-enforcement sources said.

“There’s no hope for this kid. If you’re picking up your first attempted-murder at 14 and you’re doing 10 years for your second at 19, you’re on your way to life.”

The New York youth statute, which was implemented in two stages in 2017 and 2018, raised the age of criminal responsibility in the state to 18 and allowed defendants as old as 21 to be held at juvenile facilities.

On the heels of Raise the Age, state lawmakers also adopted measures that prohibited judges from setting bail on nearly all criminal cases, save for the most violent felonies.

socialists don't think it of course. communists do though.

its the duality of socialism failing paired with even socialists achievements never being "enough" socialism. Its almost the Peter Principal of economic/government policies.

A place will naturally support as much socialism as it can until it fails. that failure can go about one of 4 ways, three of them favor a communist view point. imo.

1. failure leads to rejection of socialism, obviously a fail for communism.
2. failure leads to complete collapse. starts everyone at the bottom, ripe for communism to come in and save the day at a later time, due to lack of any "established" capitalistic tendencies after the collapse. this is the backbone of Karl Marx's collective ownership, and his idea of the collapse allowing something new to arise based on the back of the workers, not the existing government. .
3. failure leads to more socialism, without reaching whatever imaginary line gets it into authoritarian communism. pushes us closer to communism. This wasn't really Maoism, but he believed in continuous "revolution" until you end up with communism. lots of small change, replace revolution with socialism, and you may get my point.
4. failure leads to acceptance of communism. this would be more of the Lenin take on communism, capitalism had failed but not collapsed and the only way to save anything was to just straight into communism with a heavy authoritarian hand to guide it.

This allowed Mamdani to surpass both former Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and incumbent Democratic Mayor Eric Adams in recent fundraising efforts, according to The Hill. Mamdani collected just over $1 million between July 12 and Aug. 18 through small-dollar donations, the city’s campaign finance board reported. His grassroots campaign drew an average contribution of $121, with donors split almost equally between New York residents and out-of-state supporters.

The fundraising numbers dwarf those of his competitors during the same period. Cuomo, also running as an independent, raised $541,301 with an average donation of $646. Some of these funds came from his former state campaign account, the outlet reported. Adams, also campaigning as an independent, brought in $425,181 with contributions averaging $770.
