VT maybe. I can't see Penn State coming after Beamer. It's likely to be the best job available unless LSU fires Kelly, so PSU should have the top choice among available coaches. And then Beamer will end up at Penn State.
Drinkwiz needs to wear yellow.VT maybe. I can't see Penn State coming after Beamer. It's likely to be the best job available unless LSU fires Kelly, so PSU should have the top choice among available coaches.
Rhule and Cignetti seems like the obvious first 2 calls for them. I believe Rhule would take the job in a heartbeat. Drinkwitz is likely high up there as well.
I mostly made the comment tongue in cheek because of all the movement of players and coaches, but I also think PSU is likely to not land their top 1-2 targets. Most schools don't.VT maybe. Penn State has the funds and Rhule's buyout is pretty low.I mostly made the comment tongue in cheek because of all the movement of players and coaches, but I also think PSU is likely to not land their top 1-2 targets. Most schools don't.
Cignetti is the sexy name, but will be 65 years old headed into next season and already makes $8 mil/yr. Not sure he makes a ton of sense and aside from being from Pittsburgh, he doesn't have any natural tie to PSU.
Rhule makes a lot more sense, but is going to cost a fortune (currently making $9.25 mil/yr) for a school that is paying Franklin $50 mil to walk away.
Drink makes more sense for a southern school like Florida or Auburn, but he may jump. I'd view him and Beamer on the same tier. Both young guys at lower pressure schools but well-paid.
No way this happens. Drink gets what he wants right now at Mizzou and he's exceeding expectations. Florida's expectations are somehow higher, with fewer resources. People underestimate how much money is in St. Louis. Mizzou is the only CFB game in town really. They are the flagship. They are probably seeing investment from individuals who aren't even alumni. I was listening to a podcast and some guy supposedly in the know says Stricklin likes Dorkwitz.
Unfortunately he would probably be good there..
On Franklin I don’t think he takes a job this year. I would draw my $660,000 a month and chill.
